getting sick of all the side quests...
it seems every other story misison makes you level up 3 levels until you can do it. Really don't like how it screws up the pacing of the game and story

If you follow it properly you should be leveling at a good pace.
It's an RPG now; there's going be lots of quests and that's a good thing.

Missions in ACO give you plenty of experience so you're never stuck on a level for too long. Now I'm finding myself over-leveled for many of the side quests.

Oh man! The Side quests are what make this game great to me. The Main story is okay, but I love all the little nuances and characters they included and things to do on the side. Just short little nuggets of goodness. :-)

This happened to me too, I was clearing entire areas before moving on. I ignored the main story quest (after getting my hidden blade) and just explored. It didn't take that long to get to level 40.

I'm glad they added the enemy scaling option.
kinda just want it to end alread. no.. thats thats the wrong way to say what im feeling. i just wanna know what happens in the story already. i usually have very little tolerance for padding

I can see that. I don't know how many games I've "rushed" in the late stages when I got burnt out and impatient to see what was happening, but I usually had the option. If a game is artificially padded with extra stuff that prevents you from progressing, then that gets on my nerves.

Yeah, the side quests are definitely used as padding to artificially prolong gameplay and add grind/gaps between the story missions. Even though players have the "choice" to leave side quests for later, the alternatives to leveling without side quests in between main quests and rraise your level are very much grinding.

I never noticed it. The side quests do a lot to fleshl out Bayek and the other characters. I never found myself grinding to get to a high enough level to do story missions. In fact I was overleveled for almost all of them. I was at level for killing the Hippo. By the time I got to the Heyena I was level 33. By the time I went after the others I was level 40 and already had the Isu armor.

I never noticed it. The side quests do a lot to fill out Bayek and the other character's characters. I never found myself grinding to get to a high enough level to do story missions. I am not saying I have not enjoyed many of the side quests, and they do occasionally provide an interesting self contained mini narrative, but that does not take away from how they are employed in the game. I was overleveled for a lot of the missions as well, and that was because I engaged in so many side quests along the way while playing the main narrative. With such strong RPG elements, I would have liked to have seen some side quests become even more self contained and not necessary to progression, but rather be such strong points that they could all be left to the endgame if the player so chose. I found that they were intentionally implemented in a way that encouraged the player to complete them on the schedule the devs intended, not the player's own schedule and perogative. Going back to a lvl 7 side quest when at lvl 40 was quite disappointing and gave no real resistance or challenge from enemies within, and yet that is how the game was designed. It was not until there was so much player feedback for enemy auto scaling (a feature not in the base game and one that only became implemented after the devs saw the consumer base call for it) that such a feature made "earlier" lower lvl side quests worthwhile to return to after surpassing the recommended lvl, especially if in the endgame.

I too am not having a problem at all with the side quests being tiresome. I quite enjoy them, they feel well thought out and contain a lot of subtle detail..

I rescued a little girl from a boat, where she had been kidnapped; her brother told me about her. So, I went to where he said and wiped out the bandits there, rescued the girl, she told me her story and what had happened. She mentioned that her mother was close by, also being held captive, and I went on a little SIDE-side-quest to retrieve her later. Then, I followed the girl all the way home to make sure she got there safely. I wasn't even sure at first she was heading home, but she did.

When she got there, her brother was waiting out front and thanked me for returning her safely. I went inside and chatted with her for several lines of dialog.

At one point I followed the woman to the docks and she had more dialog to give me, which led to another quest..

Each encounter is filled with dialog, as much as possible, and then there's the follow-up dialog with each one after the quests are over. There aren't too many games that have this much detail in them, and I feel like each quest is seamlessly meshed with the other parts.

That sounds like a worthwhile side quest. Hearing about it has reinvigorated my interest in side quests and now I want to find that one in particular

It was Children of the Streets, in Memphis, and it was listed as a suggested Lvl 23 side quest. It led straight into one called Mortem Romanum, a Lvl 30 side quest, somehow.. For some reason, they're listed separately, but I swear they played as "linked".
