What's the difference between yellow and white question marks on map?

For serious? The yellow ones have little check marks meaning you've completed the objective...

No, he means the "question mark" as in "?" symbol.

yellow ones are for "Bayek Promise" and i think "elephant arenas" locations, for the rest they are just gray, there is no difference (perhaps XP) but i have never bothered with it, i always thought that they are marked in yellow to make you quickly notice the locations you missed from "Bayek Promise" quest when looking at the map.

white= animals, bad men, cities, treasures...
yelow= important things haha
