Besides, fire spreading is cool.

Poison is great at spreading amongst enemies even from corpse to passerby enemies though like fire the effect can wear off (but only on its own, the enemy cannot do anything to stop the effects).
Bleeding is another damage over time than can interfere with the enemy's ability to attack and block intermittently and in my experience so far I have not found it to wear off and will always continue to affect enemies until they die.
My favorite setup includes weapons with combination of Bleeding and Poison, as it's more realistic than weilding weapons radiating Fire, and having the two paired, there's nothing the enemy can do to negate the damage inflicted. Bleeding and Poison also add immersion because, being a warrior, Bayek probably has knowledge of effective ways to maintain sharpened blades and even how to apply certain poisons to his weapons.
