Weird as I have AC:O running from a 7200rpm HD and everything loads fine, every time. Another bug??

Did not work for me unfortunately .
Textures in a distance are terrible . I have to get closer for them to load. :(

Tip is only bandaid and does not fill an underlying probelm.

Not true.

The tip actually gives overpowered CPUs a bonus in performance, once tweaking has taken place.

I had the same bug after I switched from a HDD to an NVMe drive. I use a 7600k CPU so I don't know what to say about the idea of an underpower CPU
with the ~high priority~ fix in task manager it works like a charm.
Thanks.

“Tweaking” as in overclocking?

Pretty sure that's intentionally set by the devs, because each patch has made the draw distance closer and closer to where textures and objects now pop in about ~25m away from Bayek's pov.

i discovered that increasing draw distance to max and setting npcs details to lowest get rid of poppings and give smoother fps

How do you manually increase the draw distance to max?

what do u mean by manually?

i'm refering to the slider under display menu, i set it to 115 instead of the default 100, then under graphics menu , i set npcs quality to low and locked fps to 90.

note, im playing @2560x1440, 4770k 4.5 Ghz +1080 ti 2050 Ghz + 16 GB ram.

now if you want to try this approach, take your resolution and hardware into consideration as you might need to lower the resolution and increase the scaling to get better fps.

"i discovered that increasing draw distance to max "

It was just the way you worded your statement. It sounded like there was a way to increase the draw distance somehow.
