Bad graphics?

Hello,
I just bought this game today and maxed the graphic details and the whole time I wasn't impressed at all... The graphics and textures just looks like an assassin's creed game 2-3 years ago?! Dafuq? Is that normal? Also the gras on the ground looks pretty bad

Already thinking about returning this game...

Xeon 1230v3 + gtx 1070

That's a compliment and he doesn't even understand that. You guys remember Unity? That game still has amazing graphics by today's standards. The lighting especially!

The textures in Unity are probably better than in Origins though.

@Moe wtf is your post proving? Did I anytime say that I have problems running this game?! I am not complaint about performance issue, just that the graphic isn't that good!

And if u still don't understand, that even a 1050ti with enough vram can run this game at max settings (surely with the worst fps and frame times) and u will see the ultra graphics, then u just don't know how a pc works...

So many ac fanboys get butthurt if u say something bad about this game

I already returned the game. Even after that we couldn't believe that the graphics (textures, some bushes) looked so poor and we watched YouTube videos which compare the settings and it proved that we hadn't issues with the settings. The game just don't looks as awesome as many people write in their reviews

The textures on the statue on ultra are joke...

If u think this game looks awesome, then u haven't seen an awesome looking game for sure...

@Wildeshuhn @Moe with the 1070 and an decent I5 you can run everything max except for the weird upscaling resolution setting. Which you can only fully max with a 1080. So even doe the graphics look like theyre maxed, theyre not technicaly maxed since you can still put the upscaling resolution to 200% and have better textures. Also the game is already hard to run, making the textures better would only make it harder to run. The game has one of the biggest draw distance there has been. If not the biggest. This hits the fps big time. This is a choice ubisoft made thus the textures are sometimes a little bit less detailed compared to other games

I will return this games. Textures just are bad.. We were playing it for one hour (we are playing in a home cinema with an pretty expensive beamer) and all three friends of mine were pretty disappointed by the graphics . I watched videos and it seems to be the normal ultra graphics. Just isn't that impressive as most people write..
lol you do not own a gpu to max it out even in 1080 P

get a GTX 1080 ti ..and even then your gonna have to reduce some settings ..ubi always looks tothe next gen GPU when they make games .. lower your settings

the game runs fine .. do not pick a single in game preset

tune it for the best look you can get with little lag and no do not use geforece EXP settings to set up your games ..they are always wrong

That's not entirely accurate. I max it at 2k on my 1080ti. Overclocking my cpu turned it into butter.

Higher res textures don't effect the performance... They simply need more vram. Textures are simple pictures no extra calculation needed

since the last patch I've run into my one and only bad graphic of a horse that isn't a horse... even took a photo

other than this though graphics have never been an issue for me at least.

You returned it too soon dude, they probably just yanked some graphic treats to up performance but they are by no means done patching this game so they'll probably even it out pretty soon. Graphics only got funky like 2 weeks ago

Good God. I only saw floating rocks myself. Otherwise I had a solid experience throughout.

OP I agree the game could use a texture pack, much like Shadow of War or Watch Dogs 2 did. While the game can look beautiful at times, that is usually only a result of great lighting, high quality ambient occlusion, and art direction. The foilage can be particularily poor in quality and many of the ground textures are lower in quality than AC Unity. Not all of the game assets are bad however. The quality of the characters, buildings, interiors, and tiling can look spectacular given the right settings. It would be nice to have a more consistent fidelity throughout the game.
