Lock Icon = I am STUCK
I just downloaded this game a few nights ago and my character is completely stuck during the first fight in Assassin's Creed Origins. There is a lock icon in the middle of the screen that won't go away no matter which button I press, or even if I switcht the settings. I play on a custom built PC. I contacted support 4 days ago - no word.

Halp! I want to play!

Some progress was made. The Xbox controlled let me 'unlock' with one click (like it SHOULD) after unplugging/replugging back in. My mouse let me 'unlock' after clicking 5+ times after replugging. WTF? At least I can move around now. I will have to figure out what the issue is, further.

Thanks everyone! Your help was all much appreciatied :D

Umm, the lock icon is there to show you that you can press the mousewheel to lock onto to the target. Should go away after a while i think

I have pressed EVERY button on my mouse and keyboard. It does not go away even after sitting and waiting for several minutes.

Try using a controller? It may allow you to lock on with that. Or maybe redefine the lock on button to another key.

I tried plugging in an Xbox controller. The controller was working all parts of the game... except in the same spot. I am having the same issue, but with the Xbox controller, now.

And before someone asks, yes, I have pressed and held every button on both keyboard, mouse, and Xbox controller. This is infuriating!

Hmm, long shot but do you have any other controllers connected? Like a steering wheel or joystick? Might ba a conflict. If not I'd validate local files.

My wife just had the same exact issue. Do you have a Logitech mouse? Are you running Logitech Setpoint software? Her middle mouse button was set to AutoScroll. I changed the function to "Other" and then set it to "Middle Button". Works fine now.

I had the same issue and it seems like you just have to scroll using the wheel up or down
