Assassin's Creed: Origins is unplayable
I don't get it, honestly. I run games like GTA V and Doom at 70fps on max settings yet I can't get above 50fps in Assassin's Creed Origins even on the lowest settings. What's the deal?

Your GPU only has 2Gb of VRAM so that's probably the problem. Also the devs recommend an i7 CPU. This game is highly CPU bound at the moment. That's my best guess.

I went by what you stated on your profile so the 1050 should be ok. Probably cpu then.

The game has zero optimisation, though in my case i use AMD and these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ developers clearly never tested their game using AMD hardware. With a Ryzen 7, Rx370, 16GB ram, x370 motherboard this game continually crashes within 5-20 minutes its unplayable. I can attain max graphics between 45-60 fps yet the game still constantly crashes.

Don't bother going to ubisoft either because they couldn't care less, You just recieve the same standard responses, asif you're 80 years old and have never used a computer before. Oh and you won't be refunded. Happy Gaming.

The game is certainly a bad port but even if it wasn't your set up is kinda weak. "I can play these other games" is a bad argument. It doesn't work that way. The nuances involved in game development means that no two games will really run the same with the same subjective level of quality.

How many times have to be reminded to you all ?!
This is not port !
It was parallel PC development along with console version !!
They can say that all they want, but it plays like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port, so I'mma call it that.

"The PC version was developed in parallel with all the other versions by the main team in Montreal, in collaboration with our PC-dedicated team in Ubisoft Kiev," said Jose Araiza, the coordinating producer on Assassin's Creed Origins. "This approach was adopted while the game features were being designed, making PC and mouse-and-keyboard controls a full part of the equation from the get-go."
Still runs like a burning dumpster outside of a retirement home. Easier to call it bad port.

Also, climbing, something integral to the game, was bound to alt by default instead of space. So their claims to have developed it with kb/m in mind sounds like fake news to me.

Which is it?
I mean, I have a LOT of trouble doing anything lower than a solid 60. I get headaches.

Blame the stacked DRMs.

Either it is a port or it isn't. If it is a port, that explains a lot regarding poor performance and numerous issues plaguing the game for so many players.

If it is not a port, whoever was responsible for optimizing it (Ubisoft Kiev I think it was) did an inadequate job optimizing the game given the poor performance and numerous issues.

If it was optimized properly, pc rigs that fall above the minimum and especially above the recommended system requirements would be seeing much greater performance and the game wouldn't require literally 100% cpu usage as is the case for so many players with rigs more that exceed the recommended system requirements boasted by Ubisoft itself. Not to mention all of the other exceedingly high cpu usage numbers that do not come about in other cpu intensive games.

Additionally, if the game was sufficiently optimized, the game would not be experiencing graphical downgrades with post launch updates just so Ubisoft can attempt to bring performance in line with the system requirements and performance related claims.

Same as mine except I've got 16Gb ddr4, though I obviously have seriously low expectations - I'm running everything on the best settings and accepting a perfectly playable (to me at least) 38-50fps. I expected far worse from everything written about this game.

I look forward to the day I upgrade to the latest and greatest rig and am blown away by the cinematic quality of game play, although having happily played Ghost Recon: Wildlands at a similar 30-40fps on highest settings it may well be lost on me.

Being a bit of a luddite isn't so bad.

You are kidding right?
You are running what is essentially an entry level PC and you want 60 fps?

Also DOOM is an FPS and GTA 5 came out almost 3 years ago.
