No unfortunately. I missed them as well, after having them for so long.

Just remember this is before Altair even, and he only had one. Probably why you don't even have one for a while in this game.

But there is a perk you can unlock to still get double assassinations, it's called chain assassinations I think.... but he throws a dagger at the second guy. Doesn't always work unfortunately but it's as close as you can get. It is very helpful though when it does work.

alright, thanks. it really sucks not having them in this game, they would've been great. usually i find myself trying to kill 2 enemies at the same time, the only way i can do that is with a bow or sleeping darts, and cannot dual assassinate them. but thanks for letting me know about the dual assassination

Not only that but I think it would be cool with this style of combat to also be able to fight with the dual hidden blades like back in AC brotherhood?

Yeah! brotherhood was my favourite ac game, when i used to play it back on xbox 360, and this game reminds me a lot of brotherhood for some reason

Dual hidden blade assassinations were a bit awkward and unbelievable anyway. Unity/Syndicate double assassination with a single hidden blade feels more natural and looks better.

that’s a bit like saying dual swords or daggers are unbelievable

No, the double assassinations from AC2-Black Flag were unbelievable, not the fact that you can have two hidden blades. Besides the point of carrying two blades was so the player could kill two guards simultaneously. You can do the same in Unity and Syndicate with just one hidden blade and it actually looks more natural and plausible.

Nah I don't know, it was never unbelievable to me. He was literally just jabbing knives on both arms into two enemies instead of just one.

I do agree that the Unity double assassination was good too, but it hasn't been the same. It was a very nice upgrade when they introduced a second hidden blade and from a gameplay mechanic standpoint it made sense, to me at least.

But at the same time they didn't even have stealth mechanics until Unity so... ugh so much has changed in this poor series lol.

I like the current direction with Origins though, it feels back on track for sure. IF they were to at the very least add the double assassination from Unity/Syndicate with one blade back in, I'd be happy with that.

And a cherry ontop would be the double assassination with one blade as well as a chain assassination throwing a knife making a 3fer possible haha.

No matter what though, as it currently stands in Origins, taking care of two guards standing right next to each other is harder than it should be. You should be able to take them both out more easily.

I always REALLY enjoyed fighting with my hidden blades though in open combat in Brotherhood. It was a ton of fun. But they fixed combat to be WAY more fun now so they don't really fit anymore. It's really tough.

If you stab two men with two daggers simultaneosly the way Ezio does you probably won't kill neither of them (at least they won't die instantly). Most of the strength from an attack comes from the body movement and weight positioning, and the way he does his double assassinations makes very little sense.

But well, Ezio even went as far as being able to kill three guys with three throwing knives simultaneously lol. So I guess they wanted to take a more realistic approach in the latest games by not making your character so hilariously OP.

If you were falling 20 feet onto two guys and stabbed the in the head with blades mounted to your wrists do you think they’d die? Obviously they would.
And when he stabs 2 enemies while just walking towards them, he thrusts his arms at them with force, not just caressing them with knives.

Though I can understand the combat with dual hidden blades being non-understandable, because then he is just slashing his puny blades at them and not striking them with precision, aiming for their vitals etc.

He's a trained assassin, pretty sure he knows where to stab someone to kill them quickly. And he does it basically daily, which means he gets good at it.

This alone can negate ANY argument you can make from a "real world" standpoint, because it's not real. It's a video game.

It's a game that tries to be realistic in many aspects. There's a reason why they removed the second hidden blade from games that could have had it like ACU and ACS. From a combat perspective the dual HB were never properly balanced and were too OP for what they should be. And for assassinations again it's a pointless addition, since the double assassinations with just one hidden blade look better and more convincing.
