Why can't I assassinate people?

When I sneak up on enemies, I only have the option to push F, which knocks them out, where they then squirm around on the ground moaning until I slash them with a sword. Is there something I'm missing or is the true stab-the-guy-in-the-neck-make-him-dead ability gone in Origins?

its because you dont have a blade that is hidden, even though, if you are hidden, one would imagine any weaponry on your person is also hidden.

Nope. I do all side quest, Kill king animals, all Captains. Everything before I move on.

Either you play on easy, or you don't take it slow with trying to do every objective in sneak mode, or you just rushed the story. If you do everything the area before moving on to a different place then the game will take a lot of your time as is. Couple that with trying to play it like the game is called: An Assassin, it will take even longer especially if you use Minimal/Disabled HUD.

no, I am just relatively fast, I do most objectives if they are more or less along the way, always been one or 2 levels above story requirement

i'm 40 hours in, at max lvl (yes, i'm a pleb that plays on easy) and have discovered and completed almost all available side missions, but i have yet to go to alexandria. not everyone goes directly to the next story quest. some take a (veery little) detour.
