HDR on PC
No official word on HDR on PC which is pretty disappointing. There have been a few games out now on PC that fully support this feature. Why they would alienate the PC crowd on this is baffling. The tech is here and it can be done. Hell, HDR has a much greater visual effect than resolution does. I'd rather play at 1080p with HDR rather than 4k no HDR any day. This may very well be my first Xbox One X title and then you get the best of both worlds. I know I'm not the only multi-platform gamer questioning this.

It is disappointing for sure. I just built my first PC after playing on consoles forever and will get this for that- but its almost tempting to get it for my Pro because of HDR. I dont get it either- its the one thing consoles have their ♥♥♥♥ together in more than PC.

LMFAO you guys really have no clue stop commenting. Whether this game has HDR on PC or not is going to decide whether I buy it on Xbox or PC.

IMPORTANT:
There will be another Title Update available in early November, which will most notably include 4K and Dolby Atmos support for Xbox One X and support of HDR displays for all platforms.

No there's not :claugh: The games engine must support proper HDR for the player to be able to use it. And as usual you need an HDR compatible display/monitor too.

Sure it would be best on a screen that supports a broader spectrum of colors but i would think its fair to say that HDR can be simulated and then displayed on an IPS Panel or OLED for example

Looks like the cancelled HDR support for the PC version. Only HDR option for Xbox One X and PS4 Pro in this patch :(

Maybe they just delayed it

I'd just like to note that HDR lighting is in the game already. You know how it's broad daylight in the game and you run into a dark tunnel/building/cave and all of a sudden the game adjusts so you can see what's inside... That's HDR lighting.

This effect has been in video games for 10years now.... As consumers... we haven't had displays such that consumers don't have to 'witness' this adjustment which on some level is the reason for HDR displays. I say on some level because, frankly, that's actually a huge range of light. Close to 15 stops/EV of light from a photographers point of view. It brings into question the performance of the displays and what range of light they're willing to output. Contrast ratios.

Anyways... what i think you all are on about is 'support for HDR displays' from this game.

Nah they said that they're not planning on any kind of support for HDR on PC, which sucks since they said that "all platforms" would get it in november.

I have this both on PC and Pro. The only use I got out of the PS4 version was to help me calibrate my Sweetfx settings similar to how Montreal set it. Basically by making sure I had the same light intensity and same color of sand. SDR sand is orange. HDR sand is more bright light yellowish.

Results below.
