Own ship?? [SPOILERS]

Hey, really enjoying the game so far, it's kept me hugely entertained and the combat / loot system is brilliant.
Just a question, do you get to summon / own your own battleship at any time? I've done 2 missions where i used it and i just killed flavius so i think i'm near the end of the game but i still don't own my own ship.. and since the naval combat is vastly improved from black flag it would seem like nonsense to not put in your own ship. Thanks.
