weapons with same name will always have same attributes and stats
So I was hoping I could get the new Nightmare pack from the rare merchant boxes, and I spent all my money to buy 19 boxes, and even though I didn't get it, I got 8 legendaries out of them (including a legendary outfit and camel from the helix store), that's almost 50% chance, which is pretty darn good (unless I just got really lucky).

But the unfortunate thing I discovered is that the weapon with same name will always have the exact same attributes and stats. For example, I got 3 copies of the same legendary weapon (not all 3 from the boxes, I already had 2 before), and all of them have the exact same stats and attributes.

I was hoping things could randomize a bit so we have an incentive of keep farming for the best weapon. For example, I would love to have a predator bow with high stealth damage and range multiplier for guaranteed head-shot kill but it might not exist in the game due to the pre-determined stats. The game could have a lot more replayability for those who want to find the perfect weapon

Because the named weapons are the same weapons... why would 2 of the same weapon be different??

because it would be much better if all non-unique weapons are random so there's actually a point to keep collecting weapons once you have all of the base-weapon???

Then if attributes were random what would be the point in having so many different weapons?

That would just make weapons more generic and things more complicated for no reason. It's fine as it is, especially considering that there are unique legendary weapons that you can only obtain once. An attribute randomization system might just screw up those weapons and there would be no turning back because of the game auto-save.

well obviously unique weapons that can only be obtained once will remain unique. The other legendary weapons aren't unique and you can obtain several duplicates of them. So what's the point of having 3 copies of the EXACT SAME weapon?

Lmao your own answer just shows how bad this system is, as it turns weapon into a medium of exchange for in-game money rather than what they are actually meant to be.

So whenever you kill a tough enemy or open a chest, and find a nice golden legendary weapon, I guess you would be saying: "oh great! Another weapon to sell for 500$!"?
For most other players, I guess they would rather say: oh nice! Am axe with awesome attributes that I can use to beat that really tough enemy!"

You can not only sell repeated weapons, but you can also dismantle them to obtain some valuable crafting items to upgrade your gear if you don't want to waste your money on time savers or waste time chasing specific soldiers that transport those crafting materials once in a while.

I think you should also take into account that not everyone playing this game is a completionist. Not everyone hunts every treasure, or raids every stronghold. I do, and you probably do as well, but for some players, those repeated weapons are a second chance to obtain something they might have missed earlier. Some people just prefer to stick to the main story, maybe do some side-quests to not be underleveled but that's pretty much it.

You can use the money to buy other legendaries you don't have.

I don't see how havint the system where each weapon can have different variants would make the expereince less enjoyable for others. You will still be able to dismantle/sell the weapons if they have different attributes/stats, you will just sell the less good one.

So it would be exactly the same for players who will finish the game and stop playing it. But for those who want to get better weapons, it will be a lot better.

Looking for better weapons isn't going to keep you in the game once you've completed all the content anyway.

I'd rather they spend that time on making more content for the game, not some random weapon system.

There are certain weapons I think are just better. Once you get one, you don't really use anything else.

For me it's one of the 2 regular swords with instant charge. The light bow with health on hit, the hunter bow with double damage over 20m.

For me nothing else is needed, so I sell everything else or dismantle.
