how to kill Phylakes ? im on level 15ish

these mofos come out of nowhere and i have 0 chance in killing them, what level do you have to be?

coz they are always red indicating they can one shot kill

i got killed by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bird yesterday

It means they are hard, but billable for you. A formidable challenge.

Run away!! I had to run when he turned up on horseback while I was engaged with some guards. I jumped off a bridge and swam under water for a bit. I climbed out and got ontop of the high bridge and arrowed his AiArse he cant swim and fight lol. I was 19 he was The Outsider (20). Its a sound that turns your blood cold when they come LOL.

Ya I was all cocky last night because I'm finally level 30 and I happened upon a level 28 phylake, and he destroyed me in two hits so.... (I do play on the hardest difficulty though)

Level up a ton and try to be within a couple levels or higher than they are. Make sure you always use your best weapons (don't waste money upgrading any of them unless you REALLY like a yellow you have).

Finally, if you are close to their level, get the drop on them. If you can get a hidden blade attack on them it should take a good chunk of their life, then just parry every hit and attack 2-3 times with a poison weapon if you got one, or bleed, but STOP attacking after 2-3 or else they will getcha. Don't be greedy.

I've killed 2 that were a couple levels higher than me so far this way. Died to a few too though, like the one last night.

Predator bow > 8 fire arrows to the head does the trick. Killed all of them with less then 9 arrows.

Where do you find any of the fire weapons do you know? Or are you saying to just touch the arrow tip on some fire somewhere?

But I've played now 40+ hours and I have yet to come across any fire weapons anywhere. I've seen in pictures and videos some fireswords and a fire halberd looking thing where the blades are always on fire and it looks amazing, but I cannot find them in-game anywhere.

By the way those convoys you can take out with 3 guards on horseback to get copper or iron or whatever, they usually always have 2 guys with fire bows, not a single ONE has a dropped their fire bow. Very frustrating. And those guys can be tough on the hardest difficulty.

They won't drop legendaries. I'm almost 100% with the game and the only 2 firebows i got were both from Phylakes, a hunter bow and a predator bow. I think those are pretty much the only one's in there at the moment. Also got a flamey sword, but no idea where i got that from. It's a pain in the ass to use it anyways.

Extremely easy method - go to one of the big camps. Find a mounted crossbow near the signal fire, kill anyone near that crossbow. Now get everyone's attention and let them light the fire. Get out of combat, hide, then get to the crossbow quietly. The Phylake for your region will show up to help, and he'll go straight to the signal fire. Unload crossbow bolts into his head, which will stagger him on every shot. Then he dies in about 5 seconds. Easy.
