My results tally up with yours fairly well, but could you check chariot along the same road? My results came up with horse and chariot running at the same speed and i'm not sure if that's accurate, but all my testing has resulted in the same
also, did you notice any difference between Rare or Legendary? My results ended up with the same times no matter the rarity
haha. My testing, i feel, is subpar because i have a stop-watch on my phone and time the mount auto-running on the road from point A to point B, but the results were nothing what i expected
I didn't see any significant difference in rarity, and horse and chariot ran the same speed, while camel was slightly slower. I've been meaning to do more testing to figure out if those are correct, but having a second person test them would be good too.
i've also noticed that camels seem harder for you to be knocked off of by enemies, but horses seem more willing to leap down from high heights
The truth is the difference is almost neglegable. At around 1km distance it's around 5s of time difference. If you are running across the map, sure horse could save you more time. Most of the differences we perceive in speed are actually the differences in animations/camera view. It's like how some games, when you hold sprint they put you in "sprint view" where the edges of the screen warp. It seems like you are going faster. Use whatever mount you like. Horse has multiple advantages in that it's slightly faster (even on sand), and since camels are so tall you get spotted easier/more and you are more susceptible to arrow fire as your head will be over walls etc.
I prefer camel, but horse is better. Still, whatever you like. Idk, maybe the unicorn is fastest, it does have rainbow trails.
indeed, where as camels seem a lot less willing to do so xD
i prefer horse, simply becuase i tend to cut across rough terrain rather than follow roads xD
some people like to know what is fastest, for traveling purposes. The only way to get a clear answer is for us in the community to go out and test it, since there are no mount stats to easily tell us =P
Old question but I just noticed you asked this. The obvious answer is, I wanted to know something - no one had an answer, so I found one. It didn't take much time, and I learned something from it. Others seemed to want to know this information aswell, so I posted it. I've had countless times when I used someone else's information/work to answer a question I had, figured it was time I contributed something to the gaming community.
I saw this back when it was originally posted, but I'm just chiming in now to say thank you for doing this.
We were all wondering what, if any, the differences were. : )
lMao, how could you NOT think there was a desire for this kind of info? There are literally MILLIONS of things that get studied all the time that we in the general populace know NOTHING about, but the data collected is beneficial to more than we realize. Yeah, some are stupid, but tons of people are probably using that data every second.
