I don't think the franchise will represent this time period anywhere soon, since Assassin's Creed Chronicles India was released just a year ago and there is a Indian themed DLC in Syndicate.

Well I am from India and regarding your question I would like to say that ancient Indian civilisation is even older than ancient egypt civilisation because of which Ubsioft will not consider to set AC in ancient Indian era as Egypt marks the birth of Assassins origin.However Mughals dominanted India is surely a good setting for AC and Ubisoft must at least once give it a try.
