No getting around it
The more I play this, the more I have to admit that I really hate the combat in this game. Black flag and syndicat had far more functional combat.

i do hate fighting sheilded enamys tho, some hit like a tank and are a pain to attack

How do you hate it? It's so simple once you learn it, but hard at the start. Got a shield? Do a heavy attack. They parried you? Parry their parry. Spear attacks from long range? Parry it. Big tower shield? Charged heavy. Big guy with a hammer? Parry him too.

Syndicate was mostly just like boxing, but at least it worked and was practical. Origins combat is just swinging a sword until the enemey is dead, or until you are facing the wrong way, and then you die. As a level 19 you shouldn't get killed by a level 3 enemy because the combat combos won't even exicute.

Also, I sort of thought as far as working correctly, syndicate was the best of the assassin's creed combat. Black flag was more fun, but didn't work quite right either.

Well first of all it doesnt work. You just swing a big ass sword while facing the wrong direction until you die. Not one of the combos works, blocks don't work. dodge doesn't work. Nothing in this game works right. Second of all, no it's not simple. It's way overly complex with multible key combos in possitions the human hand can't even hit on a key board. You tell me how you can hit, shift + alt+ f with one hand in the heat of combat. If you try to remap, it just creates control conflicts.

Anyway, I'm off to go play black flag. At least it works right.

What? What in the? How do you hit the wrong way? When you swing you push a direction either on the controller or MnKb, it totally works and if you're having further issues, you can click the middle mouse button or the corresponding controller button to lock onto the target. Your attacks will go that way provided you do not push an opposite direction while attacking, but this also allows you to attack other targets even while locked on.

The shield doesn't work? Again, how? You have to face what it is hitting you and it well..blocks it.

Dodge works as well and a well timed dodge slows down time allowing you a side/backhit on your target.

The combos such as push combo work as well, but the timing is strict. If you do 2 hits, but then hit the third to hold, it won't work, you have to use the 2 and hold the second. It takes getting use to. This is basically DkS with a AC skin in the combat style.

I don't use controlers. I use a keyboard and mouse.

Again, it sounds like you aren't locking on. Good choice about Black Flag though. Still my favorite.
My point exsactly. Overly complex.

I prefer the combat systems in Black Flag and Syndicate, as well. Origins is mostly just a button masher, and I find I mostly look forward to getting combat over and done with.

It's a masher with an obscenely convoluted combinations that don't even work. Don't get me wrong, I really love the assassins creed saga, but come on man. At least make your combat controls intuitive. This game feels like a computer randomizer program just made up the control.

your getting killed by a mob 10 levs under you? you should rethink how your going into the fight

i can easly take out groups od mobs at a time, even if there a few levs above me. sure the sheilded ones get annoying but you can just range/fire bomb/ sleep dart them.

Origin combat system is just a common system that could be found in most of rpg
Assassin's creed series has it's unique and perfect combat system, makes you feel likes you are a combat master.
And i don't think swing weapon to each other and let numbers control everything could be identified as a combat system, it's better if it's called fight system.
At very beginning i try to fight an enemy that is 4 lvl higher(red skull), the battle continue for 5 minutes and end with his only attack that hits me.

I'm getting killed because nothing works. The block control doesn't block. Dodge doesn't dodge. My guy just stands there and dies no matter what.

You need to stop spewing that nonsense bro.

Ubisoft finally let a developer of theirs treat us as adults instead of what Mac from "Worth a Buy" calls "Simon Says."

Before it boils down to press counter when you see warning signs, dodge when they turn red, attack when no prompts show up.

Now for the first time in the series, we determine the course of the fight instead of pressing a single button that does 3-4 moves that we did not execute.

M+KB trumps controller in FPS games. Not in this game.

The buttons are fully rebindable using a controller. Again, a first for a Ubi Dev. You should think about it.

Locked on while on Horse back with a heavy attack charged, I'm unstoppable.

Without lock on, its a fair fight, and with my control scheme I can turn camera at the same time as attacking and sprinting. I can actually do more than that, such as pulse and picking up stuff all while being able to turn camera, but we would now be venturing into the merits of the Xbox Elite controller.

It's a total rip off of the combat system in Ryse son of rome, but they've over complicated the control combinations. Aside from that, nothing works. Block won't block, Dodge won't dodge. All I can do is swing a big ass sword even without my hands on the controls, it will just ceep walking forward swinging at air, while a level three kills me from behind.
