Weapon attributes...
Hey everyone this may seem like a silly question but on legendary items there is an extra attribute in yellow. Does this mean that the extra perk is always being applied or just to highlight it as an extra perk? I know the fire perk on weapons make them on fire as soon as it is drawn but what about the sleep on hit, block or poison on hit, block. Are those perks automatic or are they like regular attribute where they have a percentage chance of happening? thanks

Most of them are % and pretty meh.

The shield - sleep on block for example is only 10% I think. You can see it in game by going to inventory and pressing L for legend. It shows all possible stats and a description and strength for each tier.

I'm not sure what the keyboard binding is as I found it easier to use a controller but if you open your inventory and with the cursor over a weapon click the right analogue stick in it will open up a page that details all the attributes. Most are on hit procs, or proc with a critical strike which is % based.

EDIT: oop, my slow typing led to the simul.

wow didnt know that you could pull up properties like that...thanks for the info on that guys. But still want to know if anyone knows for sure about the yellow perks. Again do they work just like the others based on some chance/percentage or is it to just highlight is as an extra perk? I remember the days when you bought a game they came with a little book called a manual....LOL. you know to describe some of the controls and just different parts of playing the game. I dont know if you get one in the box but I havnt seen any online manual with my purchase.

Thanks for the link but I know about the actual properties or what they do. I am just trying to figure out if this extra property is an automatic perk that happens and is not based on some percentage like what this link is showing. Because the on fire perk happens everytime you unsheath the sword or whatever weapon has this property.

What do you mean? Bleed on hit, bleed on block, sleep on hit, sleep on block etc are percentage-based.

From the link: "On Fire: Attacks have a chance to set enemies on fire". So it is basically percentage based that as well. The actual visual fire effect you see on the weapon seems to just be a visual thing, it is on fire thus when you attack someone with it, it has a chance to set the enemy on fire. I know two weapons (excluding bows) that have this fire effect on them and those are Hepzefa's sword and ceremonial scepter.

On Fire - Weapons that lands attacks are almost always 100% setting the enemy on fire. The chances actually lowers if the enemy is higher level, or is blocking with a big enough shield.

But I generally set them on fire anyways even if they block it.

Well thats what some of the perks do...they only apply at certain situations...so like the Bleed on block, you have to block and with that comes the percent chance the enemy will start to bleed. Where as the fire perk the minute you take it out it is already on fire and I beleive that when you hit them it automatically puts them on fire. So this is what I am trying to figure out, that the yellow perk on legendary items, do the always go into effect regardless?

I apologize if I am not explaining my question clearly but I am confused about that last perk...
again is it a constant perk that is applied when attacking or does it act just like the other perks?

I'm not entirely sure what your question means, and it seems I might be about a couple years too late, but I will share some info I have gathered during my gameplay:
1) A weapon's rarity is linked to its attributes (perks). A common (blue) weapon will have only one common (normal) attribute. A rare (purple) weapon will have two common attributes. A legendary (gold) weapon will have two common attributes plus a legendary (gold/ you say yellow) attribute. There are no weapons with no attributes. Note these are general patterns I have noticed and I have no concrete evidence this is 100% true and there may be exceptions.
2) Each weapon type has a certain attribute linked to it, and always has it. There may be exceptions to the following and these are solely based on the weapons I have on me at the moment. Also note that the levels vary:
Regular Sword: Critical Hit Rate
Sickle Sword: Bleeding On Hit
Dual Swords: Adrenaline Regeneration
Heavy Blunt: Adrenaline On Kill
Heavy Blade: Adrenaline On Hurt
Spear: Critical Hit Damage
Hunter Bow: Charging Speed
Light Bow: Rate Of Fire
Warrior Bow: Precision
Predator Bow: Stealth Damage
Shield: Either Melee Resistance Or Ranged Resistance
3) For your question about whether legendary attributes are always applied, read what it says. For example, if it says 'on kill' (e.g. Adrenaline On Kill) then it activates when you kill someone. Note that many attributes have chance based outcomes, meaning it does not always work, but some do always work. For example, Sleep On Block only has 10% to put the enemy to sleep each time you block their attacks, but Ranged Hit Multiplier always applies when you are 20m away from the enemy (however I have noticed that it does not take into account vertical distance, so if you are 30m higher but right above them then it does not count). On Fire is a chance based attribute, although it is quite a high chance. The weapon, however, always shows as on fire but it does not guarantee setting enemies on fire. Treat the fire as a visual effect to show you have the attribute, but not to show that you necessarily will set the enemy on fire. Much like how a shield with Sleep On Block always has the 'sleep effect' but does not always put enemies to sleep when you block their attacks. Check the legend (from the inventory, press L on keyboard, or press down left stick on controller) for more information on your attributes.
