Best way to deal with soldiers on horses?

They're so annoying no matter what level they're on. On foot, it's difficult to kill even one as you can land a hit every 20 seconds or so as they come by you rarely. Using a bow is a bit tedious as aiming a headshot can be quite difficult while they're on the move. On horse, I guess it's a bit better.

Anyone got any good tips to kill them quickly?

Call your mount and get on it and just hack and slash. They'll die in an instant.

If you unlock the shield charge skill in the skill tree - it can be used to knock down the enemy from the horse, making it easier to kill them.

get on your own horse or use your bow when they're at a distance.

You can also knock them down with the charged heavy or you can use a sleeping dart and put the horse to sleep. Catch the horse on fire and the horse will sometimes buck, throwing the rider off. Multiple ways really.

Use a spear for some stand-off in the saddle combat.
