Using the torch

My son has got to level 7, but still appears unable to use the torch. The icon appears but can't select it. Is there a mission to unlock it.

you can use it from the start, on the keyboard it's the #1 key, not sure on controller as I don't use them.

If using a controller, just hold down the right Dpad button ,

It's kind of fidly, I had some troube switching between bow, fire bombs, (left dpad)

Its gets easier after you get used to it

You have more than one torch, and can throw it as well ( treat like a bow ) Good for checking a room for snakes before entering, then just pick it up/light another.

This also works for ranged weapons - pushing left on the d-pad switches between your two bows, holding down left switches to your "tool" weapon, like a firebomb or sleep dart.
