Anyone else had a really tough time with the side quest "Tax Master"'?
-Rescue some guy at the very center of the fort
-Need a key btw
-There are like a thousand guards
-The Captain is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beast, hidden blade made like 5% of damage while a moment ago you thought you were about to kill him
-Want to avoid it? After you rescue the guy he'll run like a ♥♥♥♥♥ and everyone notices you.
>Fight against ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everyone
-Lol someone used the alarm. A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ phylake appeared.

how much higher lvl are the NPCs ? if 1-2 lvls higher than you they do massive dmg while you do small amounts.

in most forts if you do quests say lvl 29 at 30 you will get poss 1-4 32-33 captains-commanders in the large forts esp.

the bird view also marks Poi incl the xbow and barazzers that they call reinforcments on i useually sneak to that first and interact with it to set up a trap that kills those who try to light it.

@ lvl 25+ the diff in a lvl or 2 higher than you goes way up so you have to make sure to use your bird to chk out the troops hiding spots and so on, also you can sneak atk and run hide i do that alot in some places its easyer than others.

This is an old topic, but there's still something weird about that captain. He's lvl 17, I was lvl 23, the first time I went in there I tried to assassinate him and it barely did a thing. Then he absolutely destroyed me as I was trying to deal with other alerted guards. The second time I made sure to take out the entire rest of the camp first before encountering him. The commander and the other captain went down easy. Then another assassination attempt on him that barely gave him a scratch. This time I did hit and run tactics with my bows. The one time I did switch back to melee due to running out of arrows almost got me killed. At last I got him lined up with a ballista and was able to finish him off, but even that took several shots of which at least two were head shots.

maybe you trying without the hidden blade? if you havent got one yet you're basically just punching him in the neck. assuming its the one im thinking of.

if you do have a hidden blade maybe its not upgraded much. but it does remind me of some of the yellow shields (the icons over their heads with gold border not white border) in ac odyssey who you just cannot kill with hidden blade on level. usually they are the strategos or that other title, rather than just captains. maybe the devs got the idea for those by playing origins!

ah i think the tough guy is sefetu? i just did that quest at level 33 and nothing in the fort was gold bordered shield, and the guy you get the key from i think is the tough kill on level? i assassinated from above to kill sefetu and it worked but my hidden blade is 6 or 7 upgrades and purple on character and i was way over levelled.
