no...i run all my games on high settings with a 2 gigs nvidia gpu, even gta5
time to upgrade your patato to a toaster!
then you must be playing them at 720P or less considering 3gb is minimum just for 1080p..

Thats pretty normal. There are several games that use 6GB VRam on Ultra settings. Its almost compltelly due to resolution of textures and such. Not sure what you mean by optimization however as if use higher rez stuff its going to take more memory . The two go hand in hand. As time goes by the requirements for VRam are only going to get higher.

Lol you can't run GTA V on high with 2 gigs of VRAM. I know because I had a 2 gigs card and the max I could go was medium with only some options on high.
Upgrade from your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ card to a 1060 at least, you won't regret it.
Newer Games will only require more VRAM so youre staying behind without upgrading.
2 gigs of VRAM? Are you using a 760?

then you better get saving cause 3-6gb vram will very soon become basic requirements for EVERYTHING

Fair enough.

Unfortunately, games are moving away from that being able to run them smoothly even on Medium. : /

Those are basically last gen specs.
He said he runs GTA 5 on high, not very high or ultra. So pay attention cause that is possible. The game is broken for non-beastly computers right now aways Restvive, hold off.

I don't think you have shopped for Graphics cards in a while. A GTX 1060 which sells for $300 is a mid level GPU and has 6 GB VRam. 3GB of VRam would be a bottom of the line card. Actually I don't think 3 GB GPUs exist . That would be pretty useless amount anyway as VRam need and usage tends to double. Just as resolutions tend to double. 2.4 .6 8 are useful amounts.. A GTX 1050 has 2 GB and sells for $120. GTX 1070s and 1080s have 8 GB VRam.

I don't think my computer is very beastly.. i7 4770k and a GTX 970, 16g ram. It's pretty middle of the road if not a bit out-dated, but I run fine on High settings.

I read somewhere that it was certain processors and AMD cards that were having trouble, but I don't know how accurate the info about the processors is.

AMD cards are definitely having problems.
look at that another person with sub par PC parts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that a game built to run on CURRENT gen tech wont run well.
