can't hear dialogs?
I know it's normal on the first days of release, just wondering if anyone else has audio problems

hey I found a fix. Control Panel -> HardWare and Sound -> Sound -> And now disable all of the devices, and then activate only the one you need. ( headphones or speakers)

So sorry that I answered this late....

Hello everyone. I have had this problem before, and it is 99% of the time, not the Game.

So here;s some troubleshooting tips:

1. Most often it is your speaker/headphone set up. If you have a newer headset, and newer chipset on your motherboard (im talking last 3 years or so). Most likely it is running in "7.1" audio.
Change that to Stereo. To do so, click your little speaker in the bottom right. Go to playback devices. Go to the one you are on, something like :"Speakers: Realtek High Definition Audio". Right click and go to "CONFIGURE SPEAKERS." Change your audio channel from 7.1 or 5.1 to Stereo.

DEEP EXPLANATION: Games generally use surround sound for in game atmosphere, such as nature noises, gun fire, and ambience. However when it comes to cut scenes, they play in straight up stereo. When you have 7.1 or 5.1 enabled, you are playing ALL audio through a surround sound experience. Meaning audio is being played at minor levels in the ambience. Since a cut scene doesn't use this, you won't hear anything in the "middle." In assassin's creed, in the second audio cut scene, theres one "AHA" noise a character makes, this is in the surround sound meant sound in the distance as he approaches. thats why that can be heard over the dialog, where the dialog disappears.

Let me know if this helps. But I bet this is the cause. I can assist in other trouble shooting if it doesn't work.

Very nice. Thanks for that. Good to know actually. I'll tell this to anyone else asking about it in the future.

Yes, althought for some reason all I had to do was disable all the useless playback devices... also from the bottom right corner of the task bar. Never happened again.

Also, this will mostly happen to logitech headsets for some reason. I've seen it everywhere.

I had this as well. For me it was caused by the Piece of ♥♥♥♥ Realtek Audio driver. I uninstalled that POS and removed system access to the Folder so the windows cant reinstall it. Rebooted and had perfect sound.

just go to sound settings and up the dialog enhancer

Interesting thing is that I have used the G35 Logitech Headset for a long time. I have never had any issues in playing other games with cutscene audio in the past. IN FACT, I played this game for about 20 hours until it stopped playing audio in the cut scenes. One thing I did notice is that Wndows 10 updated to the Creators Update and that is when the sound stopped working. I have "fixed it" by using the "diable unused devices" method for now. Considering how widely used the G series of Logitech headsets are in use, I am surprised that the developers of this game just assumed they would work without any issues. Hopefully, they will have a permanent fix soon.
