The better the quality the better the damage.

Not just damage, they can also add more crit chance/damage, health on kill/hit, help you get your special faster, that sort of stuff.

The better the quality of the weapon the more bonus aphexis it has, Like extra crit damage or applying a bleed or poison effect.

You can continuesly upgrade your weapons as you level too so if you find something you really like you can keep it with you whatever level you are.
