Game does not start after launch download.. please help!
Game simply starts on steam and closes within five seconds.. tried launching uplay to see if it helpes but did the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?? No game launch at all after selecting play.

specs: i7 6700k, 1080ti, msi krait gaming

i´ve installed it on uplay but i certainly wont install it on my SSD (C: Windows) - hoping for a soon fix cause this is just ridiculous....

I have installed amd's new drivers and downloaded AC:O patch and still crash at launch.. is there no fix at all for this???

I had and still have this issue, I've been able to start the game 3 times on very low settings when my specs are i7 4790k, gtx 970, 16bg ram, OS 64Bit Win7. When I got it open I played it for 5-10 mins before trying to put my settings on medium as my cpu usage was at 50% or so and when I did it wouldn't reload. I keep getting this error and I believe it's due to Uplay not connecting to steam for some reason, go to the folder where Uplay is installed so mine is - I:\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\logs and check both files: game_starter_log.txt & launcher_log.txt. It should look like similar to this:

(soz about the comment being huge just needed to let people know instead of looking for ages when it took me a while to figure out why it wont start. People have said it's possible that updates for both steam and uplay are causing this issue so I doubt theres a fix yet as I've looked for ages and cant find anything on why it wont start.)

I have all AMD parts... I looked in my logs and dont have the same errors.. I tried to contact Ubisoft Support but got no responce in over 5 days... I requested a refund.. dont think Ill buy another ubisoft game.. their support is straight garbage!!

I posted about this earlier on another thread but this fixed it for me.

"Not sure if it will help anyone but I am on Windows 10 (Fall Creator's Update) and upon trying to fix another issue I checked 'Disable fullscreen optimizations' under the compatibility tab of the exe. for Assassin's Creed Origins. The important thing is I also checked 'Run this program as an administrator' as well thinking it would help. This is what prevented me from running the game and all I got was a splash screen unless I moved the game back to C drive. Unchecking the run as admin option fixed the issue immediately.

ONLY uncheck 'Run this program as an administrator' if this is the issue you are having.

This was the problem for Assassin's Creed Origins not launching and only getting to the splash screen with spinning circle (but should work for any Ubi game)

Hope this helps someone."

My did that a few times and it said the nvidia driver quit working but on retry iit worked? Not sure why, have the new driver.

Here is what fixed it for me.

browse to where your ACO.ini file is. usually C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Assassin's Creed Origins

Open that file and where it says : WindowMode=3
change that to this: WindowMode=1

hit save and start the game.

i don't know what it is with new games lately, but they hate being open in full screen mode. might just be my set up. but tbh its pretty standard.
