I dont really think that would work because it's not as smooth as it used to be. It's basically just blocks.

Well at that time it was smooth,so sliding is entire possible.But controlling the slide is a completely different story.

Why not? You never slid off a steep hill? You can slide off anything that's on a steep angle.

Why you would ever want to do that tho...

Maybe before the Arab conquests. After that, they striped the pyramids down pretty well for the white granite casing stones (~8000 tons) for mosques, and an unkown amount of limestone for, well, everything.

I was never sure if they had smooth sides, I have only (obviously) seen pictures of how they like today.

Well they were smooth.But in the trailer i saw some rough edges where there were some cracks.So iam assuming that is how he climbs the pyramid.
