MHW-Iceborn Save data not working.
Hello, I have recently come across this issue with my MHW game. I have been trying to fix it for days now. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my game countless times. I have verified my files, uninstalled Hunterpie v2, and unchecked Iceborn from the mods. Everything I can think of but my game STILL won't play. It keeps telling me to make a new save file when I try the game crashes! I'm at my wit's end because I've been trying to fix this for 2 days today being the 3rd day. I have looked at all the forms and tried getting my old save and still nothing has worked. I have deleted my old files, I've done everything I could think of to fix this. I need help.

I don't understand what's going on, I don't want to have to rebuy the game and DLC with a new account.

after HOURS of trying to fix this issue, I have finally found the solution. Here is what you need to do if you encounter this issue in 2023

Go into your steams cloud using this link. https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorageapp/?appid=582010

download the SaveData file.

go into your folders to the hard drive you downloaded MHW. it should show up as this
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata

click on the: 274763376 folders then look for the folder: 582010

Click on the Remote Folder inside you will see
PhotoData00.dat
SAVEDATA1000 <------ Replace this data with the Save data you downloaded from Steam Cloud. It will reset your Steams cloud save. If you have a backup save you made before the error paste it there.

Verify your MHW files and Launch the game.

The game will then work from there.

Note If you had clicked the create new savedata when encountering the error like I did then your original save is now gone. :crying_yeti: Yes it also brakes my heart but hey you can now play the game!
