DirectX12 API making textures worse
I don't know why, but for some reason when i turn on DirectX12 API, while it prevents the game from having stuttering issues and reduces the CPU usage, it makes the certain textures like armour and weapon textures much lower res, regardless of what setting i have selected.

On the other hand, if i turn it off, the textures will be affected by the texture quality option as usual.

Anyone else having this problem?

I have the same issue, bummer. Switching to Dx11 fixes it but I have like 5-8fps loss with it.

Yeah it kinda sucks, I either use DirectX12 and have worse textures and potential crashes, or I have it disabled and have stuttering problems.

Just have to hope some of these problems get ironed out i suppose.
Yeah, I have the same problem. It makes the game run well but also makes it look like crap when turned on.

I don't know if this'll help, but if you guys have AMD cards I saw some folks complain the textures were grainy. It looked like to me they might have the "gaming" profile enabled in the 2020 adrenalin drivers which coincidentally makes games look worse. You can change it by either switching to the "Standard" profile or disabling "Radeon Image Sharpening". To get there it's Gaming tab > Games > Global Graphics (or if you have a specific profile set up for the game, click on Monster Hunter World).

You would've noticed it on both DX11 and DX12 presumably though so yeah don't know.

Yeah hopefully. I will say that when I was using the High Resolution texture pack there was like weird texture swapping on some stuff constantly, but I don't know if that's DX12 related and a similar problem as yours or just the texture pack is buggy. I can't get pass my problem of the game constantly crashing so I haven't been able to figure out any of the other issues currently happening with the Iceborne update lol. :steamsad:

This happens to me in both DX11 and DX12. DX11 just runs worse for me in all regards.

Some times, the textures load properly, or unload, in DX12. It's totally random for me, even in the same play session or area.

I just noticed this issue today. Having low resolution edges on helms and palico gear and the textures popping in and out of high resolution.

A lot of people have made complaints about this issue. I'm not sure if everyone is having the problem or only some people, but I suspect a lot of people don't notice the issue, or assume it's normal, if they do have it.

I made a thread about two weeks ago that collected other threads, and some posts, complaining about texture/fidelity issues. A link for anyone interested: https://steamcommunity.com/app/582010/discussions/3/3681064880122729021/

I've been checking these boards almost daily, and sadly, I haven't seen anyone mention a fix. I hope Capcom acknowledges the issue soon.
