How to enable NVIDIA DLSS with RTX GPU?
Hi,

I have an RTX 2080Ti and 1440p monitor. I have heard MH:W supports DLSS but I am not able to find this option in my settings.

Are there guides to enable DLSS? I want to try out the performance benefit.

Thanks in advance.

If it's not showing up above the fidelityfx setting at the main menu, then you're one of the unfortunate few where the game doesn't recognize your rtx card as an rtx card.

Either that or you can't dlss 1440 on a 2080 Ti. Not sure. I know there's resolution restrictions to dlss based on which card you have.

Is there a known fix, or is this a bug in progress?

I tried 4K DSR using nvidia control panel and in game, still no option to turn on DLSS.

The only two fixes I've seen are reinstalling windows and doing a clean reinstall of your nvidia drivers using DDU.

I'd suggest the latter unless you REALLY want to try out DLSS.

Here's a link to DDU.

I don't recommend it anyway, DLSS in 1440p looks really ugly. It looks better on 4K resolutions.

It doesn't. It's just a solution that worked for at least one person.

Here's the thread where it came up.

A couple months ago, when I got my RTX 3080, I used DLSS. I didn't play for a good month or so, and had switched to Fidelity before quitting - and now DLSS is greyed out, even with Fidelity disabled.

I don't remember what it looked like.. but it irritates me to not be able to use it now. Not really worth reinstalling WINDOWS, if that is a fix, but... very irritating anyway.

:::UPDATE:::

...and I just figured out what the problem was. It now appears to be available only in the 3840x2160 resolution. It used to be usable on 1080p if I recall, but now it's greyed out below 3840x2160. I'm sure the 4:3 aspect ratio has an equivalent that it works with.

Good frame-rates too, but not that many cards - even RTX cards, get you acceptable frame rates at that high resolution. My 3080 does, but the 3080 is a very new GPU.

I would imagine it doesn't pay to use it at lower resolutions, maybe that's why it was disabled. Virtually anything looks good at 3840x2160, but I DO notice a bit of a difference with DLSS enabled, in image quality and frame-rate.
