Game won't start (Black screen then crash)
Hello,

My MHW just gets stuck on a black screen for 10 seconds then proceeds to crash/close.

So far I have :
- Made sure no mod files were in my game (it's a clean install)
- Disabled any and all overlays
- Turned off Steam Cloud and deleted all saves on my PC
- Re-installing drivers
- Starting the game from another Steam account through family share
etc.

I have a laptop with an RTX 2060 and a i7 9750h along with 16GBs of RAM

All drivers are up-to-date.

Really wanna get on that Fatalis train so hopefully someone can help me

Yo, I had this problem when I came back to this game last sunday.
After also trying everything I fixed it by reinstalling steam. Try deleting everything in the steam folder but the steam.exe and the folders userdata and steamapps.
Steam will redownload everything after you run the .exe again. However I have to do this pretty much every time I restart my computer or close steam, and God knows why it's like this. But it worked so far.

Try whitelisting MonsterHunterrWorld.exe in your antivirus or just disabling/uninstalling your Anti-virus.
I got the blackscreen of death, and fixed it by uninstalling Webroot without even requiring a reboot.
Hundreds of us found disabling Webroot doesn't even prevent the crash, that AV is militant against lots of games.

Militant against denuvo and similar copy protection crap, which isn't really a suprise. Since most of them are invasive on your system.

Any answer previously said will NOT work on Linux. Disabling the AV, removing mods, using loaders. That wont work on linux at all
