rx5700 card
three times in a row now, same GPU
It’s weird I have never had a crash in any game before I started playing MHW and I got a few err12 after the main story. I wonder if there is something in their coding that cause the card to run wide open or something. I’ll be using Monitoring software 100% of the time once I get my new card to keep an eye on clock speeds and ♥♥♥♥ to see what’s going on. IIRC I think I saw the clock hit over 2200 at one point when I was checking the card.
I am playing much more demanding games on the gpu, like DCS flight simulator for example, my card is rather new ( about 5 months old) and works really well with all the games i play, no issue whatsoever :/
I have 32gb ram and the graphic card has plenty of vram too so it is not this either.
The high res texture pack disabled doesnt change anything so i put it back on, the only thing that fixed the crash for me tonight was to revert back to directx11.
It is clearly an optimization problem of MHW Iceborne from the last update this week , i had the game working like a charm before. They basically messed up in the coding/graphic driver optimization..
I dont understand, with all the money they earned from this game, why they did not test their update on the most popular cards on the market before releasing it, especially since this err12 crash is not new, many people had the issue at the initial iceborne release...
Same for the network error that disconnects you so often ( error code 400-MHW1), I wonder when they will finally address that issue. These two technical problems are my only gripe with what is otherwise an amazing game.
The game ran fine using DX12 and the HD Texture pack on the same driver (20.1.3) before the update.
