MSVCP140.dll crash
I'm unable to open the game after the update. I press play, a black screen appears, and after a few moments it disappears.
Looking in the event viewer, I see this:

Faulting application name: MonsterHunterWorld.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5e27ffbf
Faulting module name: MSVCP140.dll, version: 14.24.28127.4, time stamp: 0x5d8e68d7
Exception code: 0xc0000005

I have a 2060 on the latest drivers and Ryzen 1700.I meet all the other requirements (running at 60 fps before this update). DirectX is already updated, etc.

Were you using any mods? Stracker's Loader?

If you're having the same thing with MSVCP140.dll as the faulting module, then it's not the game. That .dll is part of the Visual C++ redistributable. You can try reinstalling that, as the 0xc0000005 exception code is commonly due to corrupt system files, of which MSVCP140.dll is.

Get and install both the x86 and x64

It doesn't matter that all other games are working. As for reinstalling, the only reason that sometimes works as a fix for certain games isn't because there was necessarily anything wrong with the installation, but that when reinstalling, Steam's "first run" of a newly installed program includes checking and fixing dependencies, like C++ redistributables. That's why if you dig into the directories for many, many games, you'll find the vcredist files.

If reinstalling the C++ redist doesn't help, you can try running Windows System File Checker to fix any potentially corrupt system files.

The problem turned out to be using "Stracker's Loader" to enable mod usage. Updating it to the latest version allowed the game to launch.
Though maybe installing the VC was part of the solution.
