Those are your scoutflies, they show the way to the monster.
They're green normaly but turn blue for elder dragons and tempered monsters.
They appear if monster tracks are nearby or at the start of the quest if you collected enough tracks of that monster.
its not the scoutflies, the screen gets a weird haze that pulses about every 3 seconds. it looks like smoke blowing around in this particular video. its color changes depending on area or time of day. i guess the video isnt perfect but it definitely shows the effect im having.
I did a bit of testing and this seems to be related to the weather.
When Kushala is in the Map the sky gets a storm effect, also causing this fog.
I never really noticed this before but I guess its an intended effect.
I'm okay with most of the weather effects, but the blue fog one is really distracting for me and I wish I could turn it off. I had a similar, confused reaction at first and thought it was a bug.
well this def makes me feel a bit better. have you guys been able to confirm if teo causes a similar effect? ive seen teo, kush, and vaal ( i guess technically velk too) since iceborne released and kush n teo seem the only ones to do this. im almost positive this effect wasnt happening until teo did his super-nova, but its possible thats just when i noticed it happening.
thanks for the replies!
whats concerning is that anyone having this problems seems to be having it before iceborne, so a fix seems pretty unlikely.
