Mouse Camera movement/acceleration is "off/broken/jittery" since the iceborne patch
I wanted to try the game for a min to check on the input stutter (another issue not resolved) and noticed the camera turning is off. It's not a smooth camera pan anymore. If I slow look to any direction the camera does micro/jitter stops now instead of a smoother turn.

Turning around also feels wierd almost floaty. When I move the mouse to any direction it barely turns even if I move my mouse all the way to the other side of my mouse pad.I tried messing with the sensitivity but doesnt do jack except increase the camera's erratic jitter and the camera still feels "off" micro stopping/deadzones when looking around instead of a smooth pan

https://youtu.be/0rfZcfeatDo video of the issue.I'm moving my mouse slowly there but it's not smooth as you can see. This happens in the forest too as I tried a quick expedition.

Update:as of 12/03/2020 the issue has been 90% fixed and its much smoother.

Yes, happens to me too, luckily only in towns. First i thought it is negative mouse acceleration cuz when you move your mouse fast it will move for less than when you move slowly, but it seems it is more likekly input skipping cuz it is not consistent enough.

Also i can't find raw mouse input option anymore that they patched in original game some time after release. Anyone knows where it is ? Did they really removed it ?

It happens everywhere for me.Tried it in the forest.Same jittery camera movement. No smooth pan.

Also noticed whenever I run the game windows defender is at a constant 6-12% only with this game.

They removed it and applied Type 2(it's in the patch notes) but obviously something got wrong in the process.

They could've just left it as it was, now I can't play ranged weapons anymore because it hurts my eyes.

So its automatically applied now? There's a million type 1 option and im kinda confused.

Also look at this https://imgur.com/a/4BtyM2m windows defender for some reason keeps at a steady 12% ONLY with this game.

Yep. Happens everywhere. No idea what they did, but mouse-control is ... A real patience test, for sure.

Reverse mouse acceleration is back.

This is yet another regression with the Iceborne build.

It is using the old Type 2 input still as the mouse does feel like a mouse instead of an analog stick, but it's bugged up thanks to whatever screwup happened in development for the PC release of IB.

Easily testable by just flicking your mouse while ingame. Camera barely goes anywhere.

One step forward, two steps back.. Just have to try to make enough noise that Capcom sees it and issues yet another "we'll fix the mouse stuff" announcement like the OG build, again. Then wait however many weeks for it to release.. *sigh*

Probably because Windows sees it as a security threat from all the anti-debug/anti-cheat ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they're doing.

It's best to temporarily disable Defender while playing MHW for now so your game isn't crippled more than Capcom crippled it in the update.

Yeah it was called "Mouse Camera Control Type".

"Steam-Version-Only Additions and Changes -> Options: Camera Settings":
"The "Mouse Camera Control Type" setting has been removed and the setting that was formerly "Type 2" has been applied, which has no mouse acceleration and is easier to use."

https://www.monsterhunter.com/update/mhw-steam/us/

But as we have noticed it's broken :P

Yea disabling realtime scanning solves the issue

In Asteria or Selinia, the nature of the mouse camera stutter changes after I take a mission from the mission board. When the Depart pop-up is on the screen, the mouse camera movement is smooth but has two deadzones when I turn too far left or right. At the deadzone the camera only nudges a bit further but it feels like I've hit a wall, like a mouse cursor hitting the edge of my monitor.

I noticed the issue displayed in the video in austera and the forest(expedition).Didn't bother testing anywhere else as I assume its like that everywhere.

Anyway the issue needs to get fixed.

I've noticed this as well while walking around in Seliana, but personally I feel like it disappears when I start running.
I haven't noticed it while on a mission so I'm not sure what is happening.

bump, this annoys the ♥♥♥♥ out of me and needs to be fixed ASAP
Goa Jan 16, 2020 @ 5:00pm
This is not the same type of deacceleration/acceleration you used to get with Type 1 controls, it's something different. The devs probably just removed the raw input mode which would explain the deadzones/bounds when moving the camera to one direction.
Relik Jan 17, 2020 @ 8:54am
I have this same issue in town everytime. It always starts to slow down mouse camera pan when looking at the forest behind you when you first spawn in to town. I also get camera hitching when in the later parts of a hunt sometimes, and when I am queuing for a hunt I just set up. It's completely unplayable.
