Yes there is. Fix your eyes.
>There is no healthbar on him
Refer to my previous answer.
>it is NOT fun to have to chase a target all over the map five times.
I agree, they should've implemented the open areas better or just kept loading screens in instead of replacing them with long hallways that you chase the monster in.
>Combat needs to be improved.
Yeah, nah. Get good.
>Difference is that WoW have much more fun combat compared to this clunky game.
Alright, you're a special one aren't you?
>Traps. I can only carry one?!
Nope, you can carry a shock and pitfall trap and then carry two more trap tools + net or thunderbug plus the EZ Trap you get from capture quests.
>Sure, you can say it is I that is bad at the game
Wow, I didn't even need to write this entire post then.
Now since Monster Hunter is a Hunting Game and not just some mindless hack n slash game where it gives you all information you need on a silver platter lets review the health bit. There is such a thing. However it's in the monster's behavior. As you get the monster closer to death they will limp away in an attempt to go rest at their nest. Thus signifying "Oh hell I need to sleep Im too weak for this." thus also telling you "hey you can trap this monster and capture it." Another sign of showing they are weak is if they leave to go eat food. That's normally more around the 50% health mark I think (could be wrong thanks to Bazelgeuse). So basically you have to think like a hunter if you are gonna play a hunting game. Yes you have to actually think in this game. Welcome to Monster Hunter.
1. Limping + crying noises they make as they try to get to their nest
2. Their icon in the radar/mini-map will have a small skull coming off them
3. Their heart rate appears close to a flatline.
Also if the monster is running away limping chances are it's going to their nest/resting place, you can place a trap next to it while it's still asleep, as long as there are no terrain restrictions.
Thank you!
1. I knew about the limping (but I've managed to kill targets before they limped away, so it was before never a trustworthy sign). And for some reason this game is at 30% sound compared to all other games, so I never bother tuning up the volume on my speakers when I play MHW, so I wasnt aware they made a different sound when hurt. Hopefully the sound will be patched as I'm not the only one having that problem.
2. Didnt know about this one, so it will be helpfull.
3. I just noticed the heartrate. :D
Finaly was able to capture my first target after so many tries without killing it. (sucks I dont get to harvest the corpse when I actually do kill it and fail the mission).
And thanks for the info that I can carry different types of traps. Was a bit annoying to carry only one and missplace it, from now on I wait till the creature sleeps.
Combat still feels clunky thought. And I agree, WoW is not the best to compare with.
I guess I could have taken games like Brutal Legend, Dynasty Warrior, Dead Rising, Space Marine, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, etc etc as examples instead..
Those games have a much smoother feel to the combat and the controls.
I guess a Starcraft player would feel the same playing a game like Stronghold (where Starcraft is Dynasty Warriors and Stronghold is Monster Hunter World as comparision).
This is an old franchise, and several aspects you complain about are hold overs from the previous iterations, and more than a few people especially the Japanese may have different opinions. Try to keep an open mind and see things the way the game was meant to be played, and you'll get the most out of it. Same as everything else.
