Failed to load save data, revert save data to default?
I just attempted the -nofriendsui -udp multiplayer fix and this error happened when I launched the game. Did I just lose my save because of this? Wtf? :47_thumb_down::rshout:

After completing the Event Quest with 2 Great Jagra, I experienced the error that told me unable to save. I looked at all of the solutions. My roommate is asleep so I wasn't yet able to use his computer to load my account save from cloud.

I didn't want to lose 2 days progress. But, I did have a back-up from 14-08 (last Tuesday). That didn't work. I tried swapping over to an alt steam account to see if I could load the save from there. I couldn't load the save (not sure what was up with that). It gave me the "failed to load save data" that you experienced.

But then, I tried changing all of the file names for every file in the 582010 folder (the save folder for Monster Hunter World). I restarted Steam. I noticed that it immediately downloaded a fresh copy of remotecache.vdf and my most recent Steam cloud save.

There was a file in the save folder with the number 3295583103, which also exists with the exact same number in the alt account. I think the issue may be related to that file.

If you experience an issue with saving your file, try closing the game. Delete the 3295583103 file, or just rename it. See if that fixes your issue!

Wow, did that really fix it for you?

Holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Christ
My second character I made and played through to high rank a second time just randomly had the SAME ERROR HAPPEN AGAIN. " Failed to load save data revert to default?"
I just tried your solution renaming/deleting 3295583103 but it did not fix my problem.

Unfortunately, I'm thinking that my issue is not the same as your issue. I'm having the "failed to save" issue. You're having the "failed to load" issue. I'm not sure what to do to fix that. Sorry.

Thanks Zensuu, I'll definitely try this on the backups I made and report back.
