No DLSS option on build 167796 (last update) RTX 2080 FTW3

Current drivers from Nvidia 431.36 from July on a RTX 2080 FTW3 from EVGA, latest build of Windows 10 (May update)
4k Display
Ryzen 7 2700x
32 GB @ 3000mhz
PSU 850w
Library on a secondary HDD

Things I've tried so far:

Checked cache
Re downloaded steam
Re downloaded the whole game twice
DISM
Reinstalled driver
Disabled MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner

Not sure what could be causing this issue, I'm not the only one, saw a guy mentioning he didn't have the option on his game, so a flag is being reported improperly due a vendor change on the GPU or something else in particular is affecting the way the game detects the code,

Other DLSS titles are working fine (BFV, Anthem, Shadow of the Tomb Raider), think this is a bug of some sorts.

Same, I had changed the motherboard and processor in my pc and upgraded windows the other day and I still don’t have the options lmao. Let’s hope icebourne fixes it somehow :/

* One fix is to go to NVIDIA GeForce Experience (from your taskbar)
* Find MHW & click "details"
* Push the wrenchbar to the right called "Custom Settings"
* Slide it to Quality

Now you have DLSS on

Make sure you play it from NVIDIA Experience to keep it toggled.

I’ve just tried that and when I load the game it gives me the message as it has before saying DLSS has been deactivated:(

Yeah, there's no real solution to this as of today, not even DDU. I had to re install my OS to make it appear.

I had a solution!
Resently I upgrade from 1080 ti to 2080 ti and find out there no DLSS option in MHW. So I completely uninstall NVIDIA driver following this guide https://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-Nvidia-Drivers and DLSS option appeared.
I think the problem in registry - may be it keep some keys about my old video card and MHW read info from it.

My machine was built from scratch by myself, all new parts, no chance of that being the case and I've already cleared down any traces of graphical drivers and reinstalled fresh ones, both with and without geforce experience, that didn't solve it for me.

I'm glad you got yours working tho. Sadly the Iceborne expansion didnt change anything for me either

That's not a real solution, we have done DDU, what you did was a GPU swap, we all here have been using machines built from scratch using the RTX cards.

For users who are having trouble enabling DLSS, please reproduce this issue again and then submit a feedback through GeForce Experience immediately. In the Comments section of the GeForce Exoerience Feedback, make sure to add the text "no dlss in monster hunter world". Also please mention in the feedback comment if you purchased a Monster Hunter World DLC. Thank you.

Hey everyone, while trying to figure out why I couldn't run the game in DirectX12 I accidentally fixed the DLSS issue too.

Not sure if this will be the case for everyone here but turns out it had nothing to do with nvidia or monster hunter world.

Long story short, steam seems to like setting itself to windows 8 compatibility mode by default... As you might know, both DLSS and DirectX12 are windows 10 features. Find your steam.exe, right click and go into properties and untick the "run this program in compatibility mode for:" tickbox.

Upon a steam restart the DLSS option was there in game and the directx12 option was no longer greyed out.

I hope this helps you guys.

Odd. I've never see this come up before. I wonder if there is any app/service that uses Steam that somehow changed the compatibility mode on your system for Steam.
