After like 3-4 minutes, the monster started moving again but they were gone. He was telling me it said I left the mission on his end and all 3 of them were still fighting. How is it that, as the host, I got booted but not them?
Peer-2-Peer networks (p2p) are where one player acts as the host server and has all players connect to them, as opposed to a centralized server structure where all players connect to one host server.
Yeah that's how it goes with disconnects for network issues. The game will let whatever player lost connection become a host in a new session, and the one old players will then become the session host. It also does this if you're kicked out of a random group. Since you're the one who got booted and they remained together, the issue is your network 100%. As stated above, wifi can be a culprit but so can any number of things. The first step is to move to a wired connection if you are on wifi.
I'm not on wifi, and my internet is beyond good. Which is a bit frustrating. But thank you for your explanation. I also have zero issue on any other games. Including the souls series, which I believe classify as p2p
What servers the game is per to peer lol
people trying to play on thousand different hard and software, while being completely clueless when it comes to the details of correct config
keep the fps as similiar as possible in the team or you can already expect desynch when potato guy tries his luck on barely 30fps in a group with uberchad with his fancy 240hz monitor while also running the game at same fps which might also cause some crashes because it is too much fps for the engine
the game was designed for 30 and 60 fps
low ram can become a trouble maker, when you are out of memory midgame and the slow hdd pagefile kicks in, it might be less trouble, if you run a ssd and simply buy more ram. iam talking about 8gb ram guys on a heavly third party software polluted os. there are special versions of windows which consume less ram simply google tiny windows and deactivate background software
alt tabbing in combo with fullscreen mode can cause dc, use borderless windows mode or stop doing it
third party software dealing with network
