Alternatively, did you recently switch to or from ranged weapons? They have completely different control schemes from the melee. Head to the Training Area to see all the controls displayed on your screen.
for most melee weapon, the aim is C, and firing slinger is defaulted to either middle mouse, or mouse button 4
for ranged weapon like bow, and the guns, the aim is right click, and firing the slinger is left click, while if you have weapon drawn, right click to aim, and Q to switch to slinger mode, and left click to fire the slinger
glaive has both melee and ranged properties, so, when we have weapon sheathed, we aim with C, and fire with mouse4/middle mouse button like melee, when we have weapon drawn, since glaive has a ranged shot for the insects, we still aim with C, but we need to press Q to switch between using slinger, or the default kinsect shot, when in slinger mode, we fire it with middle mouse button
guess that's a reason i stick to melee only -w-')
