MHW fails to launch for unknown reasons
So I decided to finally move my steam library to my non-bootable drive for more storage, I had some disk write error problems (which I had fixed already), my other games are working fine without a spot of problem, but there's MHW, which just crashes immediately after checking for player data, no error messages displayed as well so I have no idea whats the problem of this game. After checking out fixes on the internet (which unfortunately all did not work), I decided to just reinstall the game, but the same problem occurs. If anyone could help me fix this pls do comment back, since it will also help others who are having a similar problem. Thank you very much!

P.S.: I have not installed any mods ever since I bought it, so that can be ruled out immediately.

You can try looking into the windows event viewer to see if any system or application error is being logged. It might not say fix this to resolve the issue but could be a start (eg disk errors etc...)

Is what the log says, and I just checked my email today, capcom got back to me to send them some more info on the situation, I will then show this one to see what they can do about it.

have you tried to verify files? did you change ypur monitor since last time it worked?

Do you have a mod that's outdated with the latest version of the game? Or perhaps a mod conflict with another mod you're running? That's all I can think of :<

Strange. These kinds of CTD (Crash to Desktop) errors usually point to a driver and/or missing prerequisite but it's the game itself that causes it.

Try doing a clean install by manually deleting all files in the game directory EXCEPT the "chunk" folder. Verify the game via Steam after that. Also keep your "graphics_option.ini" file to not bother with having to adjust your graphics settings.

Yes I've already tried verifying files, and no I did not change my monitor since the last time it worked. I also do not have any mods installed for this game. Lastly, capcom's help service said that I try reinstalling the whole game in my main SSD, I think so thats to see whether it has something to do with my hard drive being busted or something. And if that still fails, I will try Mr. September's idea. Its really weird if its a driver issue, since I have already updated windows and nvidia drivers, there might be more that I need to check, but I guess we'll just see on what capcom's fix for this will be, when the former fixes still does not work.

I really have no idea on what the hell happened here, this has been my worse game troubleshooting yet. And its driving me crazy lol.

Thank you everyone for the advice, really appreciate it.

Oh well. At worst case, the drive is faulty in some way and it's just MHW that has visible issues.

I hope you solve the problem. It's a bit strange so far.

Update: Well the clean install did not work, I've also read on how some have tried using steam beta and it got fixed, still did not on mine. Sent capcom all of the things they need to diagnose the problem, hopefully, it gets fixed soon.

Capcom pls wtf are you doing why are we experiencing this.
