Just regular Jho, not Savage? As far as I can remember your only bet on PC is to spam HR Deviljho investigations. He has a small/large event quest, but it's part of the Horizon crossover and only on PS4.

Achievements are pointless. Don worry bout it.

Your best chance to pull crown monsters is with "Investigations". Use any deviljho investigations you have, and break as many parts as possible to obtain more. I do not remember the percentage difference off the top of my head, but you can find those numbers online quickly.

Personally speaking, I prefer achievements that provide a challenge, and RNG achievements rarely pose any. I get my gambling fix elsewhere (F2P gacha games... one of my few guilty pleasures...), so I didn't feel like rolling the dice over and over again for the crowns. It didn't cheapen the experience for me, considering I used that mod when I was like... 900 or 1000 hours in. I'm now 1.6k hours in, and I realized I just take breaks instead of quitting in the past years, lol. No need to burn myself out, after all. The game is still as fun as it always was. Using the crown mod only relieved me of a pointless grind.

If you don't want to mindlessly spam Investigations in hopes of landing the single digit percent crown rates for the handful of monsters that don't have crown quests, you can consider using the mod. Check the "Crown Size Mods" section in the guide below, if you are interested.

Large crown is investigations though. No way around it. The quest for it is a PS4 exclusive.

I bet some people wonder why I recommend mods almost every third time I post. Sure, the RNG part is the main reason, but not having quests with reasonable crown rates in general AND having some of them locked to another magical subscription box is criminal at this point.

Sometimes I wonder if I should stop being lazy and make a custom quest mod with 10% or something crown rate for all monsters (for both large and small, so it adds up to 20%). Oh, well. We already have mods that affect all drop rates, so I guess it's redundant.

Modding would really be the same as cheating in this sense.. yeah it sucks but it is what it is.

I'd argue the problem is making achievements like this in the first place.
It's not about skill at that point it's entirely luck.

I'd rather have achievements based around beating every monster with every weapon or something.
Least that would actually require some skill on the player's part, not just go hunt these 80+ monsters with 3% spawn rates at the size you need..

I don't blame anyone for modding the game to reduce that RNG, but it's still cheating in my book.

It's why I will never get 100% in this game. I have 75% right now which is plenty.
I have my fill of gacha, I don't need it in a game like this.

80/100 for me, i'm going to 100% it eventually but I got a lot of work to do yet.

Still got a few MR multi hunt monsters to get but then it's on to all the investigation ones..
That i'm not looking forward to, specially since I only have Velkhana investigations with 6% large crowns, everything else is only 1g 1s so 3% on large crowns for Deviljo and the other Elder Dragons/Monsters I need.

Only Elder I have both crowns for is Teostra atm

achievements in this game are kinda pointless, achievements in general are pointless. just play in a way you find fun. literally nothing else matters. it's not a real accomplishment to 100% an arbitrary video game lmao
