The right build to kill the tempered Zinogre
I'm having a hard time trying to kill the tempered Zinogre. The weapons I am using is the long sword and dual blades. Can someone recommend me some good armor and weapon build to kill the tempered Zinogre. What's the powerful ice long sword or dual blades to use on him? I seen some people using the luna long sword on this monster, but I try to use it to defeat him, it doesn't work. The armor I am using is the kaiser armor, garuga legs, Rajang helmet b+.

I beat him with the normal Meta LS build, which is purely focused on damage output.
I usually never go to any hunt with a dps build without having at least Health Boost 2 and Divine Blessing. The rest is just pure damage with Crit Eye, WEX, Attack Boost, Crit Boost and Agitator.

Augment and Upgrade your Armor and run Thunder or Blast damage weapons.
Definitely cut his tail if you can too, will impact his range on his Flips and Spins.

You shouldn't really be having any issues with that set up, honestly. If survivalability is your issue, then look into slotting in health boost, stun res, and make sure your armor is augmented.

The problem isn't your build. You're using a very optimised build for the point of the game you're at, you just need to know Zinogre's moveset better. Tempered Monsters expect you to have reliably learnt their movesets and will kill you if you haven't got the monster's patterns down. So, unless you haven't equipped Health Boost 3 or you've forgotten to upgrade your armor, you should be fine.

Here's some tips for Zinogre:

  • You can catch Fulgurbugs from Zinogre's back when it's downed up to three times using your Capture Net and this is actually extremely useful in the fight. Each catch drains around a third of Zinogre's remaining charged state time, which means when Zinogre gets charged up for the first time (IIRC Tempered Zinogre starts charged) you can use something like a wallbang to down it, then use the Capture Net to immediately knock it out of the charged state and deprive Zinogre of his strongest attacks.

  • Zinogre uses its tail often for a lot of its bread and butter attacks so cutting its tail can do wonders for reducing its range. Once you learn the patterns of his tail attacks they become reasonably easy to avoid

  • Zinogre's "blind spot" in my experience is generally its front, so that's where I'd advise you fight it from. Zinogre has attacks like claw strikes but they're limited enough in range that you can dodge them.

  • Zinogre always jumps backwards when he is either going to howl because he's become enraged, howl because he's become charged, or try to charge itself, which makes it pretty predictable once you pick up on that pattern.

  • Enraging Zinogre while it's uncharged often leads Zinogre to repeatedly make attempts at charging itself instead of attacking you which can provide an extended window for damage.

  • Always be on your guard while Zinogre is charged because that's when the fight gets serious. Zinogre's "Dunk" where it gives a fairly obvious roar tell then jumps into the air to slam down (if it's sprawled, it'll stop after one hit, if it lands upright it'll try to dunk you again) functions as a pretty powerful nuke attack, so keep an eye out for that and don't get hit by it.

  • Thunder resist isn't hugely important but it can help quite a bit against some of Zinogre's strongest attacks. Remember to use Nulberries to negate thunderblight if you contract it and you don't have Stun Resist 3.

Above all else, just stay calm and don't overcommit, remember to back off when your health is getting too low and heal.

Tendie the arms and trip him with those.

The only potential OTK it has is the super-slam which you can block with any shield (no need for Guard Up, even). The multi-slam is heavily telegraphed, should be easy to get out of the way. He has another variety that is very fast though (the one where he stays lying on his back for a moment) so either use shield weapon or learn the (short) movement he does before it.

If you are still learning his attacks, bring 20+ Lightning Resistance (thunder ailment makes you a glutton for stuns), max health boost and do not forget to upgrade your armor.

For me, the only challenging attack he has is the tail slam somersault, it is quick and very damaging (tho no OTK potential if you're healed up). You can predict that, too after a while.

As with all other monsters, the secret of defeating them quickly is learning their patterns more than the quality of your equipment.

just run the new furious sticky 3 hbg and fokus chain on the head with 2-3 people. makes him braindead with 4 people useing it he spends like 50% of the fight flinching on the floor. this literally keeps him out of supercharged+enrage the entire fight. its kinda broken and allow for braindead farming. run guard 5 and a shield mod to prevent chip dmg.

Actually any HBG build with 3 shield mods is pretty much immune to anything he can do, you can chose between Spread, Sticky, even Elemental (Ice) or Normal if you like. Just do not attack continuously, while you are learnin his moves wait after every 2 or 3 attacks to see what he does. Your HBG shield only works while you are in idle.

Hmmm I use shield spread hbg with kirin's drop rate for the run. 4-7 mins constantly with 3 mins + if lucky. Not sure what will you be farming but It took me 700+ runs to get the stuff I want so good luck.
