You don't have to play with anyone at all.

idk if you can boot 'offline' but what you do is 'create session' - set to 'session ID only' and no one can join you.

from there, you will be playing by yourself, and if you lose connection to the mhw server, then it will enter offline mode.

i'm sure there's a way you can do this from launch options but idk.

your session won't be visible. you do want the game to periodically update and connect online, because that cycles the in game rewards / festival stuff, etc.

You cannot boot the game offline, at least not from my experience. You have to go online, then disconnect your Wifi so it kicks you to an offline Lobby.

Yep one of the worst things about World.

in the start menu when you select 'matchmaking' there is an option on the bottom of that menu to "ID only" if you don't share that ID with anyone then you are effectively offline.

Simply put, there is no way to run the game offline unless you set Steam to offline and/or cut your internet connection. Courtesy of Capcom, I guess. Just another questionable design choice.

If you're asking about this because you want to play alone, you can simply create a "private session" that can only be joined by people who have the Session ID. Just like a few others said.

PS: If you fire SOS while playing in a private session, other people will be able to join you regardless of session mode. Same for quest passwords. Even if you set one, SOS flare overrides it to be visible to everyone.
