XP and Hunter Rank
Hi folks.

Is there a way to see in-game how much XP I got for a quest and how much XP I need for my next Hunter Rank? I'm used to being able to see XP and level progression in other RPGs. I haven't found anything like that in MH.

Thank you.

No ingame way to check as far as I'm aware, but I think the Save Editor did show your current EXP. Not sure about "EXP left until next rank", though.

There could be CE tables that show it by reading memory, as well.

You can't see the value of exp required to level in-game but you do get an exp bar if you open up the start menu (or esc menu if you play on keyboard). Top Right where it shows your MR and HR. The amount of exp required is the same regardless of what level you are so its not too difficult to gauge (I think the required amount per level is ~4500?).

Maybe there's some mod can make you see it but it's unnecessary. Every level is same to get up so you can just use it by feeling. It's not so important so don't worried for it.Just enjoy it~

Should also note that until you beat the base game, ranks dont even work like that. You go up in ranks as you complete assignment quests. optional andevent quests tally in the background but they wont effect you hunter rank until after you watch the credits

MH is an rpg? I thought it is a fighting game like Soul Edge or Tekken

Its closer to something like Shadow of the Colossus, but with less climbing and more fighting. Basically, it is a game with only boss fights.

You prep for a hunt by crafting weapons, armor, and putting potions and stuff in your bag, then eating a meal to gain various buffs. Then you go on the hunt, and the goal is to just beat the "boss."

Some quests are for other things too, like "collect x number of mushrooms" or something, but they are rare, and they usually have some additional benefit, like adding new meal item choices to your pre-hunt meal menu.

Thanks for your input. Sooo...do I get XP for Main quests only or do I get it from side quests too? Which quests will help me to level up quickly?

Thank you

You get Rank Points for every mission. Some event quest give more of it than usual. Hunter rank is also story progression locked, meaning your hunter rank is capped at certain levels until you progress far enough in the story to get the next level cap increase. Master Rank levels do not unlock until you get to the DLC content.

Just to be clear: Hunter Level doesn't make you stronger in any way. You don't "level up" your character in a classical sense. It's only for unlocking some quests.
