Graphics Washed Out
I just finished the opening sequence of MH. Cute game. However, the graphics seem a bit washed out and need to be darker. Hard to explain. Any suggestions?

Turn off DLSS

Volumetric fog gives the game this foggy atmosphere, you can turn that off for a sharper image.

DLSS is bad, use Fidelity instead, im using that and it looks good.

Turn of AA or pick the one that isn't as blurry, can't remember which one.

TAA is the one that blurs the image. Technically FXAA does too, but it's way less noticable.

Well, I did everything y'all suggested except that I could not find the volumetric fog settings. When I get a bit of time, I'll jump back in and see how things look. Thanks!

In your settings go to Display>Advanced Graphics Settings> and turn off Volumetic Rendering Quality.

Got it. Thanks. I also disabled DOF. Never did like the effect except in photography. Can be a CPU killer.

Some people like to play with something like ReShade or some other sort of game filter like Nvidia's to make the game more colourful

FYI, the game was actually more washed out on release for several years. If I remember correctly, they actually increased the saturation with Iceborne, but hardly anyone noticed.

Anyway. Go to your GPU's control panel and increase the saturation (or Digital Vibrance for Nvidia). You don't have to mess around with ReShade. Probably up it by 20%. Done. Although, ReShade would allow you to set a custom saturation. Instead of having to reset it every time you close the game.

Go to nexusmods. Search for "lut" (no performance impact, changes the game's filter directly via altering files) or "reshade injector" (doesn't require explanation). Enjoy. However, make sure not to turn your game into a color filter vomit mess or I'll steal your balls and eat your pets :steamhappy:

you probably don't but make sure you do not have hdr enabled

If you have an nvidia gpu then try out freestyle game filters, to start out I suggest the basic sharpen and curves filter. Those should make things look more crisp for you and you can increase the effect if desired.

Sigh... Sometimes I miss my old Amiga. No graphics curves, GPU worries, or such stuff.

You could also adjust your monitor settings...
