Negative reviews from recent surge of new players
Reading on the recent negative reviews made by them, I've isolated some common complaints; some are justified, and reasonable, such as their save being nuked and clutch claw mechanic, but some are just players coming from MHRise.

These ones make some hilarious comments on why they rage quit the game. I quote some:

70% of the time monster will get angered and will throw you off either killing you in the process or stunning you, this gets so much worse in endgame iceborn. The endgame bosses are just not fun to hunt, and throws everything you've learned into the trash, every single endgame monster has a stupid AOE 1 hit KO move that will obliterate you.

And most outrageous(read:hilarious) of all:

Fatalis is a good example of poor design choices, a 66000 HP dragon with terrible hitboxes, 1 hit KO moves, ridiculously aggressive, and you must kill him in under 30 minutes, a 66000 HP monster that will barely give you any time to breath.

This sort of review has always been a thing. An ex of mine said the World was trash back when it came out because of a lot of what was pointed out in your quotes. I tried explaining to him what the game is all about, but he just wasn't interested. His negative review was quite embarrassing for me to read.

Monster Hunter isn't a franchise that's gonna appeal to everyone and while MHW did wonders bringing the series to the forefront, it's still not a game that just about anyone can get into. That applies to people who started out with Rise as it and World are quite different. That's not a bad thing, though. It's good to have a diverse market.

Rather than take a step back, cool down from the rage and come back and try again, they just run to the reviews and post their rage. Goes to show how childish and immature these people are.

Let them, it's baby-crying.
I've seen those reviews too, and they just make me smile to be honest.

There's extremely little self-reflection going on with people in general.
"Am I perhaps the problem?" Isnt a thought enough of them have.

who cares, the game's 5 years old and not even the most current game of the series.

the game's already made it's money and has already established its place in gaming as a whole.

all these recent reviews are from "tourists".

***

EDIT: i checked the store page, recent reviews are at 92% positive. even higher than the 88% from all reviews. i don't know that OP is on.

That sounds like you're talking just about people who are starting out, however, what about the people who get to Alatreon or Fatalis then leave a bad review because they can't beat them? Even though they've probably put in close to 100 hours already and beat everything else.

Still happens and it's not necessarily because they're Rise fanboys. Someone might get frustrated at a monster, rage quit, and say the game is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ because they can't get into endgame content. That sort of reaction is far from exclusive to MHW.

When I imagine how i started MH. My first MH was Tri on the Wii and i sucked balls when i started out. I got time outed by Royal Ludroth, carted multiple times to Barroth and i don't know how many times me and my friends team wiped at Lagiacrus. And believe me each time these things happened, i raged hard and got really annoyed. But I got over it. And i learned to play and how to use the Weapons properlly and learned when i could attack and when it was better to dodge. I've since played 3U, 3 Portable, 4U, World, Iceborne, Rise, Sunbreak and many many Monster Hunter Clones (Yes, i including Wild Hearts). World and more specifically Iceborne feels like just the right difficulty to me. So to see Rise first timers complain about it is hilarious to me. I have nothing against Rise and Sunbreak, i think its a fine game tho definetly on the easier side compared to Iceborne. But People claiming it is clunky and slow and they haven't even played any of the previous games.... HOOOOO BOY, keep me from falling off my chair cause i can't stop laughing at that.

Most negative reviews are people who play mobile games, paying money for time skips and other garbage, getting fed rewards without having any challange.
Duskyer Jan 4, 2024 @ 7:55am
Ah man kinda reminds me of people who only played World complaining on Rise reviews and forums. It's almost as if MH becoming mainstream attracted a toxic spew of people who think they know what the game is about.

Imagine expecting every monster hunter game to be the same
