i can still enjoy the game without the dlc right
Rise is almost an entirely different game that only has the same core ideas as World has, so you might not like it if you really liked World.
I recommend playing the demo of Rise and decide from there. It gives you an idea about what to expect.
*I'm not counting stuff like achievements, of course. Some are RNG, so those can take far longer. Similar stuff is in Rise, as well.
World, on the other hand, is more about world building and narrative (such as it is), so the pace is slower and more methodical.
Both fun games. They just approach the core concept of the Monster Hunter series differently.
