lmao even
You can hunt together with your waifu twin sisters, and with your two favorites doggos. Can't do that with World.
The auto lock (and the neck-snap) is especially annoying, so is the "pick me up!" glow of environmental intractables. Fortunately, both of those can be removed by mods (and I think they did add an option to disable the neck-snap, but I don't even remember anymore).
2. Roar spam only ever happens during turf conflicts or if the AI starts going wack for some reason (which is surprisingly rare, honestly). Apart from that, it's not even an intended thing to begin with. However, I still agree with you. It should have been done better. At the very least, Earplugs should have been a % bonus that reduced daze duration instead of having thresholds for different "size" of roars. Roars are manageable since the spam isn't a common thing. How Earplugs function is significantly worse, in my opinion.
3. You can skip the entire map in Rise if you use certain weapons and the wirebugs. Do you really want to make one of the main things irrelevant in a game, where the map/topography is one of them? I prefer the terrain to also pose a minor challenge instead of having glorified, flat arenas; so I disagree. Harder traversal is part of the intended experience.
4. This one is valid. If what I was told is correct, 2 people made them all, so they likely had to recycle a lot. No clue why they neglected it so bad, considering their massive budget. They could have ported like half of them from older titles (in fact, there's a mod that adds MHO weapon aesthetics) and it would have worked.
5. This one is also on point. It's as if things are drawn out on purpose, except there's no purpose, and we're getting trolled.
6. While I agree, I think World still had it better due to the core principle. If I remember correctly, one of the head leads said something along the lines of "Singpleplayer immersion" when asked about cutscenes (and why you couldn't skip them). They should have allowed people to watch them together at the very least, but I can see where they're coming from. At least this one got fixed by a mod so it's a non-issue, apart from design-wise.
Assignment quests are glorified tutorials anyway. The real "endgame" is fashion, Optional Quests, Event Quests and Sieges. Those don't have any cutscenes for the most part, and the ones that do have them can be skipped by an invisible "vote skip".
7. Clutch Claw is not inherently bad as an idea. The main issue is how the game wasn't designed from the ground up to allow such drastic moment-to-moment gameplay changes. The reason why Rise's Wirebugs feel much better is because it's designed from the start to work cohesively with the game's core mechanics and flow. MHW's Clutch Claw caused there to be "gaps" (like how some weapons have strange/underwhelming/nonexistent CC moves) and the unnecessary changes to adjust the addition of the claw, so it feels like it doesn't belong in the game. It could have been done better, for sure.
At the very least, Clutch Claw Stagger (AKA Clagger) shouldn't have existed to begin with, because that's the main reason why the combat flow is messed up after Iceborne's release. Base game monsters should have kept their old HZVs, as well.
8. Still clunky, but better than before. At the very least, you can directly control them in Rise instead of having to mark where you want to go.
9. World is an outlier compared to other titles, but I don't think using the same moveset is necessarily bad if they are done well enough (and they actually are). Older weapon skill systems (and Rise's system) add more variety and customization to the player's playstyle. A hybrid system would enrich the general experience significantly.
Didn't people want more reason to fight lower tier monsters and not just higher ones? Qurios crafting
Events...eh, both are the same imho.
Safi was also eh. Didn't do it often due to the rotation of events.
Quiro crafting is just a trash system overall. Just another bad RNG system to throw on top of the charm RNG system.
Rise feels sterile and boring in comparison. Really hope Monster Hunter 6 comes soon and fixes that.
To summarise: "lol I'm gonna post about how much World sucks on the World forums instead of praising Rise on the Rise forums just to farm Jesters."
Because why engender positivity in the place you like when you can inflame negativity in the place you don't instead?
Its the same on the MHR threads, doesn't matter where you go
Monster Hunter Series was never about visual, feeling, presentation, graphics, details. MHWorld babies will always brought up how bad the Rise look is compared with their superior game MHW visual, feeling, presentation, graphics, details.
Rise is more in line with MH than World is. World is a "black sheep" of sorts, were it stands out the most in the series.
