Please. Stop capturing Zinogre.
You need to carve him to get Gems. It is not in his rewards loot list. Only Carving.

If you let your Palico solo him with the Palarang you get 10 times as much loot.

You should always capture

1: It's faster
2: It's easier
3: You get more from capturing

Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

Obviously dont know what your talking about. Keep playing the worst "monster hunter" game.
Capture is always better. It is faster and rewards more (the difference is between 1-2 rewards more compared to slaying + carving). And of course everything is available from the carve table when you capture.

How many times will the capture vs killing argument come up?
Seriously..

Capturing is equal if not better to killing.

oof, Might be the dumbest thing about this game said by an actual person on here so far.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say this is just troll bait, because i have faith that no one would say something this profoundly stupid if they played this game more than 1 day.

Sigh.

It IS in the capture list. You're interpreting the hunter notes incorrectly.

Doesnt it bring back feelings of the post base game launch discussions, reading a topic like this? How nostalgic!

If I can say my opinion, It's only capcom fault.

What have a new player to understand from a guide with a list divided by "reward" and "carve"?

A normal people think that the carve list is not present in the reward at the end of the mission, and you can get only by carving a killed monster.

Probably if MH's developer was less ambiguous people, expecially new players, understand in the right way.

A normal person would realise that it doesnt say ''capture'' anywhere on that page, and would try not to presume too much.

Is the information incomplete? Yes. Is it incorrect? No.

Stop spreading this myth. You can get gems from capture as well. There are plenty of monsters whose mantle/gem/etc doesn't show up in their reward list, yet are still available from capture and investigation rewards.

Ive been playing MH for a long time, beaten them all (released in NA) and its always been common knowledge to slay because its better. Unless this load of crap excuse for a MH game called world changed something thats always been absolute its always better to slay a monster as opposed to capture. You will ALWAYS (trust me always) get more loot when you slay a monster. That and capturing is just a ♥♥♥♥♥. The ONLY time i would waste my time capturing a monster is when there is a significant % difference of an item, like i believe ruby has like 1 or 2% more chance if you capture than carve. So if you want to waste your time capturing monsters have fun taking twice as long as the people who kill them.
You sure do like being wrong.

There's so many things wrong with this. The most glaring issue is it's quicker to capture!

This isnt ''all of the MH games''. Its MH World and Iceborne. Basing assumptions of mechanics on previous games is one thing, but assuming they absolutely have to be the same is pretty stupid.

Capturing is always faster. Much faster even, especially in Iceborne where everything has way more health.

i feel like i'm actually losing what little is left of my brain cells after reading this
not only are you completing wrong about everything that can be objectively measured because past monster hunter games are not relevant, how is capturing at all "a ♥♥♥♥♥"? you put down a trap and throw 2 tranqs, it's about as easy as you can possibly get
DaBa Jan 21, 2020 @ 4:51pm
Damn. Two years and some people still haven't figured out that the loot tables are the same for both.

Wats even funnier is that he says "faster" yet still has to decrease the hp to 0 while I cap the monster at 20%, giving me less than his 2-3 more min of slaying the monster
Also, hopefully he isn't one of the ones who wishes for a manual get out of the 60 sec timer type of player who I've seen complain about it b4
