WARNING Nexus Mods maybe Virus Infected!!!
Hello,

i checked if a new Version of the Transmog Mod is out and after i was around 5 sec on the Website, i was directed to a other website and my Boxes makes a loud (bioslike) sound.

I get a failure message and a dumb order to now click a button to save my PC. I closed instantly the Website but as sayd not fast enough bevore this loud Sound appears.

Im not sure and wish not to make bad Propaganda against Nexus mods, but in my eyes the Website is not save anymore.

In that case I recommend using Firefox with addon Ublock Origin. I use it myself and never have issues even when visiting questionable sites. With Avast antivirus too, very lightweight, good for gaming.

Chrome is less convenient when dealing with annoying sites that autoplay music or refuse to be closed. Firefox has feature to shut them down quickly.

Really? Well, that’s a problem. Because it then goes into what that one fellow pointed out with the silver knight layered armor.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say the giant rag doll anime girl skin for Nergigante is not actually in the game files.

-_- No it isn't, you have either been a victim of clickjacking or you have an extension on your internet browser that redirects you somewhere making an attempt at ransomware. Check your web browser extensions, delete ANYTHING you don't 100% use, need, AND recognize, problem solved.

But Nexus does virus checks before a mod can even be visible on the site. I think you just got targeted by a scareware redirect ad, which shouldn't have happened on Nexus anyway. Having been targeted by such myself before, so I can tell you from experience that it probably was caused by something else you downloaded from some other site that has done it before you went to Nexus.

Tested with ad blockers disabled and confirmed that it's just OP being dumb/ignorant. You literally click files, manual download, slow download or fast if you have premium, and you get the files. You can even preview the file contents to ensure download matches so the only way you'll get malware is by clicking an ad or running an .exe that doesn't match file contents.

Interesting i must check that. As far as i can say i have no Extensions in my Browser.
But maybe the transmog linksite is a "clickjacking" it appears after i was there on the Modsite from transmog.

thx for the kind words *roll eyes*.

But i only clicked on the link i have stored in my favorites for the transmog mod and after im a few seconds on this site the sayd Problem appears twice. As far as i remember i only clicked on files and read what versions are realesed. The version i downloaded dont works anymore (11. Januar 1.5.1 it forever search the savegame).

Im not ignorant, maybe i have a virus on my PC and that triggered the Problem, even i dont found one. But on no other Website i have that Problem. Ok im 90% of the time only on netflix and amazon prime video Websites im not such a big Website user. Some Forums, Mods for games and the thrid Party Steamkey seller. Im 43 jears old and hate sozial media and such things.^^

This is funny and also sad lol. Old dude who arent savvy with internet get fooled easily by malware.

It is a typical case of browser hijacking. You open a page and somehow you get redirected to another website irrelevant to the initial page that threatens you with something if you dont click something in it. It is likely a malware infecting your browser. Any page can be redirected in that case.

Do you use PC to access the page? Or mobile?

I know android browsers are more vulnerable to it and I have seen such case. Usually fixed by clearing cache and data on the mobile browser. PC browsers are usually more resistant to such because people install stuff like Ublock Origin or NoScript that blocks many of the bad stuff.

If you see such redirection and threat, never click on what it asks, coz it will initiate whatever attack it wants to do to you, from installing unwanted softwares, virus, spyware, ransomware, opening backdoor access, etc.

Also if you get email from a rich Nigerian prince or someone wanting to invest big money in your area and need your help, those are scam who will ask you to send some money in exchange for big money for you later.

Tbh that would Nergi a lot more fun to fight. His current model is too edgy for me. :cf_Taokaka:
