Retrospect: Fatalis was the best send off for any game, possibly in all of games
I recently rewatched a Fatalis fight and I gotta say, it's still breathtaking.

For all it's problems and shortcomings World had one hell of a run, lots of up and downs and of course, one hell of a send off with what is in my opinion the best fight in all of Monster Hunter history.

Yes, I know there have been fights which play better and have better flow, but that's not the point here.

Durning World's course of development we've seen many fantastic fights and itterations of monsters, some might've left a sour taste in your mouth but you've persevered.

And finally, the pinaccle of world's development cycle a return of a legendary monster we all know and love - Fatty.

For all it's worth, the fatty fight managed to use all aspects of World's game design while at the same time making it non-intrusive by taking a detour of the open world schematic of the game's fights by condensing it into a very effective Arena that still provides tools akin to those found in the open world areas with the caveat that they had to make sense in the setting where the fight takes place.

Fatalis is the end of the line, a sort of "You've done it all - congratulations" ending. The gear you get is simply a big go out there and go wild with your builds sort of reward, that it almost feels like cheating, and usually I would detest this, but the grandeur of the fight and Proof of Hero just make it all fit in place.

It's just the right ammount of difficult where it makes use of all of your buildcrafting knowledge as well as making you use all of the tools at hand to complete it, and despite all of this, it's still an insanely fair fight.

Even the armor itself acknowledges you in a sense that Fatalis' watchful eye simply knows you are there.

My point is; the context of the fight, the fight itself and the reward, the whole package really makes me grateful I played through all of it, just for the end moment.

I can't wait for MH6. Rise is fun, but for me, it's not a fair comparison. World was truly an all you can eat buffet of MH.

The problem with hunting Fatalis in my opinion, since it has a very good gears and weapons (Arguably the best in the game if we look the amount of slots and skills they put), a lot low-MR players immediately jump through the fight right after they reach MR 24 knowing how strong the gears are.

Many of them carted right away or worse, simply leeching and stay inside the camp waiting other players wiped the monster for them. Heck, i've found quite a few times players that still equipping Defender Gears when fighting Fatalis lol, i just don't get it why not prepare better instead making it more difficult for themselves.

I would prefer they do the cheese method by using plunderblade rather than jumping to suicide quest and then complain Fatalis is "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥".

Other than that, Fatalis is the top 3 monsters in this game for me along with Alatreon and Furious Rajang, to the point hunting him became an addiction at certain point.

They might as well just use mods or something to cheat the Fatalis equipment. Saves them time, if they don't have the desire to beat him fair anyways.

Also I agree, making Fatalis a MR 24 quest was just a pretty stupid design choice imo.
Armor was way too op, it doesnt feel like cheating, it is cheating
While killing him once was alright and all, he isnt fun to fight
Alatreon was a lot better fight, should have ended there
The only thing fatalis has over the other monsters is that he doesnt have the stupid clutch claw tired animation, thats it

While the armor sure is very, very strong, I wouldn't call it cheating. There where to many Fatalis-wearing casualties during AT Velkhana.
Monster Hunter has always been a series that focuses on gameplay. Thats why they've never had a super big focus on story (Or any really good story to begin with). Using stuff like "muh themes and muh sendoff and story and muh black dragon" to justify a mediocre fight is a fanboy cope.

"I recently rewatched a Fatalis fight "
lmfao
Hasn't even actually fought Fatalis.

You forgot rule #1 of the internet: "If I happen to not like something, but someone else does, that someone is an idiot with brain damage."
Probably rise-hardcore-fanboy, triggered by OP's last paragraph

To each of their own i guess, i love solo-ing Fatalis even more so than Alatreon which is also my favorite monster, my opinion might be biased because of that but i don't feel he is unfair or not fun to hunt.

Yeah he isnt unfair, but just feels slow? Idk how to explain it

Yeah imagine getting properly rewarded for fighting one of the hardest monsters in the game.

My only complain for Fatalis fight is the low MR requirement that tricks new players

Also totally agree with this. Should have been MR 100 minimum.

My only complain for Fatalis fight is the low MR requirement that tricks new players and the DoT heat damage which makes running heroics annoying. Otherwise it is an addictive fight that felt like a wall like Extremoth, but once you learned the openings it is one hell of a tango.
I agree the fight itself felt like a rewards, every perfectly landed TCS is a one-time dopamine booster.
Probably one of the best fight in the series, if not outright the best. Alatreon is on the same level aswell.

My only problems with both of them are the nukes. They're not difficult at all, it just feels like they kinda waste my time. There's a good fight flow and then nuke and I wait until the fight starts again. It's the same feeling as getting an ad in the middle of a video, it's certainly not a deal breaker (I mean, I just called them the best fight in the series) but it's kinda annoying.

Still 10/10 fights for both.

He literally hasn't even fought Fatalis. He's praising something he knows absolutely nothing about because he saw a YouTube video and went "oooo cool dragon woaaaah"
